It's felt like spring here the past two days with highs in the low 70's. The forecast today is near 70 and tonight a low of 20 with a chance of snow.

The power keeps flickering on and off, and you can hear tree branches cracking outside.

50 degrees yesterday, today we're going to get a storm, probably the one you just had John.

Doesn't look like much where we are, but 6-18" up north. Great for the ski areas!

well...according to BF, i haven't logged in for a month. uhhhh....hi guys!

Hey Hugh! Hey, i was thinking of you earlier. i have one of john's knives that i *still* need to put a handle on. i was considering that burlap micarta (though, i will prob use wood). but, i was curious how the burlap is holding up on that BK17. you still have it?

The micarta is holding up great. I gifted it to our pilots son about six months ago or so and he loves it. It's a great knife and the handle looks the same as when I got it from you.

cool! and that's good to know. it was something i often wondered about....how the homemade stuff would hold up over the long haul. thanks man. hope all is well with you.

Hey guys, good to see you around!

I picked this up at an antique store recently. The price was right for me at $15. I don't have a lot of need for something like this, but it looked too cool to pass up. It's not a JK hawk, but it should hold its' own.

From what I have read, Underhill Edge Tool was a maker in the late 1800's - early 1900's. They were located in Mass. and NH.

I'll have to find something to chop, LOL!

suffering succotash! I was sanding the scales on the next jk pocket knife and a fairly large chunk of wood came off from around the back lanyard tube f%$^*# a!!!!!

I frickin hate that. A couple weekends ago I was down in the shop, and everything I touched I destroyed. Some days are like that I guess...

true, honestly my first thought was that I'd bee lucky not to see that in mostly untreated (but sundried) woods more often, didn't make me feel any better though :p
