The "Whatever" Thread

I was working a detail in the park the other day so naturally was walking the trails. Keeping an eye out. Probably not more than 8 foot in front of me a big red tail hawk flies up. Carrying a freaking snake. Probably a 3 footer. It's cold so didn't expect it at all.

Watched him post up in a tree about 30 foot away and just destroy that snake. I mean he was just ripping it apart. Very cool to see.
Mmm, raw snake.
Cool sighting.

John my move/roadtrip will be taking me up I39 in your state. I dont think ill be able to stop though my family will be waiting on all of our stuff that i will be hauling.

Working for yourself has no job security either, everything can change in an instant, and it can be very stressful.
I've been starting to consider getting a normal job again just to cut down on stress.

My old man got fired today after working forever for the same company. Poor guy
I worked for the same company for 37 years, my wife worked there for 23 years, the company moved production to China and Mexico, we both lost our jobs.

I picked the first morel of the year on thursday. Snow friday night.
No snow here today, temps were in the mid 80's. Did find the first morels of the year, about 3 weeks behind the past several years. I'm on vacation next week. Hope to turkey hunt, trout fish, and pick mushrooms. ........ maybe drink a couple cold beers.

Good luck with the hunts. And the beverages.

Is that a tiger maple handle, on that odd shaped knife, second up from the bottom? The one with the zig-zag, one eighth inch brass or copper pins in the handle! Do you have any information on that knife, I’m interested! Just anything you can tell me! Thanks,
FT

Here is a screen shot of his post for the knifes description other than that info I know nothing about it. I hope this helps

Well it rained pretty good in our part of the appalachians. We were soaked before we got from the truck to the lake. After 20 minutes it seemed almost impossible to get the powerbait on the hook. My son looked up at me from under the poncho and said dad its time to call it. So we drove home. And my other two sons were already up in good moods and wanting to hangout with dad:)
