The "Whatever" Thread

AMEN TO THAT!
I liked them little beagles (13") but they sure could climb fences!
My last one (Buster) was part foxhound and was 17" tall. STRONG!
Too bad he came along after my Rabbit hunting ceased. Great Bawler!
He thought he was a lap dog though! (My fault)
Loved to Fish!
Some friends on mine had a Beagle named Lloyd, he was certifiable.
My dog is part Beagle part Dachshund and when she sees a rabbit, it's like a switch goes off in her head. She is also the sweetest most mellow dog ever.

Hanna is coming over after school to spend the weekend. Supposed to get a lot of snow overnight and tomorrow, so we are planning stuff to do indoors. Baking cookies in the morning, then a movie marathon.

It's good to have the JK sub-forum to click on when I'm here. I understand change is inevitable but things have changed so much since I joined that I would log on much less often if it wasn't for this section and a couple others. Thanks to John and the great guys here for making this a fun and informative place to visit:thumbsup:

Getting some work done in the shop before Connie and Hanna wake up. Snowing and blowing outside.

I'm disappointed - early in the week they forecast 6-12" of snow for us, then downgraded it to 2-4" - yesterday afternoon, once they had a better handle on how the system was moving, they bumped it back up to 5-7".
I woke up to only 3" on the ground.
it was pretty much done dropping fresh snow by midnight.
now it's just cold and windy.

We got about 3” of snow here last night. Now it’s 14 degrees outside with a persistent northwest wind. My morning commute was uneventful but it did take a little longer.

yeah our high temp for the day was 24 at midnight - it's been dropping steadily since.
currently 15 with a wind chill of -3.

We only have about 3” so far, but it’s still coming down. Temps are dropping to sub zero tonight.

Went to the public shooting range last week to find the gate closed because of the government shutdown. There were a couple of vehicles parked at the gate and I heard shooting. I didn't walk up because I had my family with me along with too much gear to carry that far. I thought I might go back alone this weekend but wanted to be certain about the legality of it. I called the local sheriff's office and they told me it wasn't their jurisdiction it was the USFS. I called the local USFS office and got a recording that the office was closed until the government was back up and running. Nothing like bureaucratic bull sh!^

I’ve been going through my own bullshit here. Seems my new credit card was “intercepted” in the mail, and someone has been using it. I spent all last night and this morning on the phone. The only reason I caught it is since Bass Pro and Cabelas merger, they issued new cards with new numbers. Connie got hers I never got mine. I called and was told it was activated and being used. I supposedly will not be charged for any charges made. I’ll see what happens when the next statement gets here.

Damn that sucks John. Hope you get it straightened out quick.
Someone got my wife's credit card number a couple years ago. She noticed the first charge within hours. She called the bank and was told they could do nothing about pending charges even if they were for a purchase at a hardware store on the opposite side of the USA. Next day there were more purchases and another call to the bank yielded the same results. Since everything had been charged at the same store chain my wife called their headquarters. At first they were eager to correct the problem. When they found out it was a Visa and not a store credit card they told her they couldn't help. Eventually things were corrected but damned if I understand how it all works.

In the shop today, it’s -5 outside, +8 in the shop.
It’s supposed to be -30 Wednesday, with a high of -8. I’ll be staying in that day!

John, look around the shop, then go in the house and warm up with a cup of coffee. Did you have that nice weekend with Hanna? Time is going by fast already this January.

I actually did some grinding on the big Camp Knife, got the handles gluing on in the basement now.
We had a great time with Hanna, her and Hayley are with their dad this weekend.

Took Connie to work at 6, blizzard conditions, roads not plowed. I’ll be spending today shoveling.

Not fun at all. Going out for round two of shoveling now. The hardest part is taking the dogs out, my Basset Hound drags in the deep snow, I need to walk ahead of her to make a path. The Boxer has long legs, so no problem there. My Beagle Sharpei mix likes the snow, and she’s almost 10.
