The "Whatever" Thread

^lol thought he was from the Land of Lincoln?

received dad's Christmas gift last night

not a knife or knife related

but a wicked awesome Pendleton blanket (he's a big Beach Boys fan)

sleeping on the floor was never so comfortable (or spiritual)! :p:cool:

good luck next week, John - those are not comfortable temps.
looks like it'll be about 10 degrees warmer here at any given time on average.

Stay safe, hope the heater is working or if you have a propane fire place and lots of Army blankets.

I have tried once before to make a leather knife sheath. That was for simply carrying around the JK paring knife so I could try it out. That same sheath had lots of issues and already failed when trying to carry my new hunter. (Poked me, no blood.)

Trying again with some thicker leather and a welt. Already cut the loop on the wrong side, so this is now a pocket sheath. :)

Having fun regardless!

if you sew it rough side out it'll fit on the proper side for you and becomes a "design feature".

I considered rough side out for sure. Decided to just cut the excess off and count this as a trial run/pocket sheath. Stitching turned out good on one side, super rough on the other. Wet forming is making it look nice surprisingly.

I watched a YouTube video ahead of time and followed about none of the recommendations. Actual leather workers with quality products seems like a lot of work! I wanted something to take with me to work tomorrow....

if you're planning on doing more leatherwork, invest in some binder clips -- they make great clamps while the contact cement is setting up.

I'm torn between currently but will change im sure with all my jk historian knowledge. But currently my order will either be a bluegill, but the real way with Osage scales light blue liners, red mosaic in front and a hollow brass tube in the rear, or a original Hurley creek that inwas cheated out of. But John and Chad made sure I was covered for the loss because they are outstanding Americans.

Also I need a gec44 gunstock or a nice looking northwoods for a church knife ill trade leather work or msrp cash for it. Other than that I'm all about jk s. I might see if John can do a super fancy friction folder for a church knife. People seem to frown when they see a fixed blade or .45 but either way both are on me.

oy vey

then again, considering I have this ultimate fantasy of honeymooning in Antartica (big fan of those old explorer books, like Shackleton et al.) where it's probably around that temp in the summer when the weather's at its warmest

just trying to say the obvious: it could be worse

I recognize that's easy for me to say

living in what is essentially the perfect time of year in Southern California,

though much of the year is like that here,

even in Los Angeles County

edit: I have no idea what I'm talking about, but upon third or fourth reflection I may have come to a new understand
