The "Whatever" Thread

I just asked for a picture, very interested in it too.

Don't expect too much, this one would be a very early knife, and pretty crude. I could always bring it back (I still have the pattern) but not at that price! This one was probably a short one, maybe only 5" or 6" blade.

So out county has a water crisis now. So on top on freezing temperatures, still digging people out of their houses and being seriously worried abiyt my wife's health. I'm now boiling snow to flush and buying bottled water to do the dishes. Oh and the dogs smell like skunk again so I think they might have found sewage because the chances of finding an actual skunk right now are slim. Feburaru can suck it.

thanks, john,

its neevr great but recently it's become terrible, we had agap in our helath care and have had to wiat to see several specialists who might be able to help here with the enxt few symptoms. It's been a long wait.

That's a very purdy sheath. Good for you. I'm glad to see that he stamped his maker's mark.

I always appreciate that detail on custom work but I missed getting my recent new sheath marked. Oh well...

Hi Peter,
Sounds like your having some tough weather related problems. Hope things get better soon.
Thanks for posting the sheath, I can see that the oils in leather are leveling out. The dark areas should lighten up with time. If I didn't apply neatsfoot oil the sheath wouldn't darken, but I think the oil is necessary for a long lasting sheath.

Wow Peter - you have really been having a bad winter!

I hope your wife gets better soon!

I am taking Maggie to a back specialist tomorrow - we found out that her hip problem is really bulging discs in her back!

We will know more tomorrow.

I hope you can dig out and start enjoying warmer weather very soon.

John (darkmatter) is doing wonderful work with leather - he is such a natural!

I love the lining - great sheath John!

best

I thought I was the only one with that kind of luck, hope things turn around quick. If Dawn detergent doesn't help the dogs try a scent neutralizer made for hunters. I can't remember which I used before but it was organic based and removed the odor better than several baths.

Geez, sorry to hear about your troubles, Peter. All we have to deal with right now is potential roof collapses from snow load.

Hope the wife bounces back quickly, and your water issues get resolved.

Hang in there, brother!

Hey all,

I'm guessing you all now about this but it's not the first time I've had the email so I thought I'd mention it.

I got an email apparently form 'paypal' today saying they had detected an illegal attempt to access my account. It looks pretty official to my eye and the address says paypal (accept it's from@saw.caw) and has instructions for how to unlocked your account again (involving sending you account info back to them.)

being the lucky fella i am I just go straight to paypal, login and find everything's fine, which means this is likely a hacking attempt (phishing I think it's called.)

So eyes up, and all that, don't send your longin or password to anyone by email or even following a link sent to you by an email etc etc.

Like I say I'm sure your all wise enough not to be taken in but I have a second of doubt and get close to almost considering maybe believing it, so thought I'd mention it.

He he. It has been quite keep checking in with no reward :(

I'm keeping busy trying to get some pookas of my own done. Going through a warm...er spell here so hoping to get some time in tonight.
