There is always room for improvement! šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

So I had to go back and see when I posted, to see what progress I’ve made.

Posted on 3/17 about trying to see how long it would take to do a single set of 30 weighted squats with 200lbs.

I managed 22 that week with the 140lb weighted vest, with pauses to take 2 deep breaths after the first 10 reps, then a few more reps, pause, a few more etc.

Tweaked my knee a week and a half ago, so had to back off a bit.

Decided instead of seeing if I could hit 30 reps with 170lbs this week, to instead ā€˜take it easy’, and see how many reps I could squat ass-to-grass consecutively without pause, with just the 140lb weighted vest.

Got 24 reps and my quads were on fire šŸ˜…

Might’ve squeezed out one more, but decided not to push it. So now, the goal is to see how long it takes to bang out a full 30 reps with the 140lb vest without pausing.

I figure this might actually be a better prep for the Murph, if I want to try doing the 10, 20, 30 rep partitions.

Although the actual Murph Challenge is usually on Memorial Day, my goal since last year, was to make the attempt in June (and I don’t have to be wiped out on Memorial Day šŸ˜…).

Never owned one of these before, so this arriving is exciting for me. (It wasn’t in the Amazon box though, I got it from white lion athletics)

And I also ordered a larger club since reps with the 8 kg are pretty easy after swinging it for around two years, I think.

It’s 12 kg (two sizes up) and noticeably more difficult to control, but I can properly do my main exercises with it, just not for dozens of reps at a time like I have done with the smaller one. Yet. Very excited for this as well.

Welp... the black flies are out again. Didn't bother me until I'd reached and completed my peak sets with the kettlebell, though, so I can't really complain. I can bring the small ones inside to finish up from now on, until the black flies die down, probably in two or three weeks, if the last couple years were any indication. I did swallow one though. Turnabout is fair play. ;)
