This is a Cigar Thread

has anyone else tried the "brown bag" sampler from Cigars International? 20 bucks for a random selection of 10 "premium long filler" cigars supposidley there are not cheapies in there. ordered one tonight. we will see how it turns out.

Going out to the deer pasture tomorrow.

I am taking a cuban montecristo pyramid and Ashton cabinet to smoke along side some Maker's Mark at the camp fire.

...I am taking a cuban montecristo pyramid...

I'm jealous. If I'm ever able to (traveling in another country or something) smoke a Cuban, that is the one I'd look for. I'm a Montecristo fiend, but I only get the legal ones.

.

FOL,

I only buy legal cigars as well. I have a coworker/friend who has given me over 20 legitimate cubans.

I think about half the "cubans" sold to folks in the U.S. are fakes.

I ended up giving the cuban to my brother and smoking an Ashton cabinet.

Not too shabby.

Which is why I've never invested the effort or $$$ to try to get any. They make some damned good cigars in the Dominican Republic and Honduras. I can't imagine I'm missing THAT much.

So? Did you get it? How was it?

Do tell :)

Monty No. 2 - awesome smoke, very distinctive nose

I'm not to sure about that, the only complaints I read about the xikar is the fuel usage. Oh yeah I think you're being way too generous with your fifty percent estimate Machaira :D .

You'll be using the Xikar warranty eventually....still better than Colibri/Prometheus/Vektor

Got it today only name I recognized was a 5 Vegas Gold and a "vintage" gurkha

Others include a gold labeled Olivero, A Don Tomas, a Highlander, a Funny looking stuby little Aristoff that has no real end, a Liga IV, A Peterson, A Perdomo Reserve, and an Indian Tabac Super Fuerto. Anyone see anything exceptional that I'm too noobie to know about?

Sounds like a good selection. Take a look at http://www.famous-smoke.com/cigars/search/showcomm.cfm/inum/17305/rc/4/pass/1
for a review of the Indian Tabac Super Fuerto. Hope you enjoy the smokes and let us know if you think you got a good deal.

well I'm quite a noob when it comes to cigars so they still are all very similar to me and I havent really had the experiance to develop a taste.

I just smoked the Aristoff. Wow an absolutly wonderful smoke. earth at first with some spice near the end. Nice draw. Nice firm long ash and stayed lit with almost no conscious effort. I highly recomend these guys.

In my "humble" opinion. That Liga IV is kind of like smoking lawn grass. That's not to say I exactly disliked it.

i smoked a davidoff last night and really enjoyed it, tonite its a monte cristo "torpedo" dont remmeber the #.

but man, like i say, that davidoff was really good.

I hated it. Thought it tasted like pipe tobacco and clove cigarettes.:thumbdn:

I'm not sure what to make of the Davidoffs. First of all, the different lines (even numbers) are vastly different so I keep getting surprised when I buy one. Second, they're good; I just don't know if they're good for that kind of money. For that price, I prefer Don Pepins or Zino Platnum Septers.

Anyone try Heartfelt Industries Humidification Beads? They add/suck humidity to the box they are in. I just got some, and wonder if anyone else here have tried them?
