This is a Cigar Thread

I just got done with a Puros Indios Special "8-years aged" pyramide. it was one of the ones in the "buggy" humidor (see previous post) and I gotta say. it was pretty damn good. I was very suprised. I'll have to be quick and smoke the rest before any more hatch.

good luck with that...lol and i think u should wait till a few hatch just so when u light it they scream and that makes it all the better lol

My buddy have a long-standing deal to trade a cigar or two every weekend. I have most of my trade fodder for the rest of the summer set aside for him in the upper right hand corner of the top tray (except the tubos).

That sealed box of 3 Punch Gran Puros, which are the only Punch cigars we haven't tried yet, are waiting for our first warm Saturday evening when we have plans for him to set up his TV outside on his patio for a horror movie, beer and cigar fest at the soonest warm weekend available. (Tough these days in Colorado.)

Ohh, it's gunna be a good summer!

Ya think?

fulloflead, thanks for the tip on cigarbid.com. I have spent a significant amount of time (and money) there in the last couple of weeks. It's been a lot of fun exploring the products they offer.

It is always fun when a friend tells me he's going to Cuba. I know all the alcohol they will bring back will be for them, but I always ask: "Do you smoke?" and hope for a "No, why?"

Then I give them 20-30 bucks and ask them to bring me back a box, that usually last until another friend goes.

Last time, I got a box of Monte Cristo Clubs for 20$ CANADIANS!

I'm still going through the Don Pepins (various samplers available at a couple different sites) and cigars by other makers that were blended by Don Pepin.

He can sure make a strong cigar! I smoked half of the strongest cigar I've ever had yesterday. There were some mediumish ones too. I like the Don Pepin Blue and bought a couple 5-packs to go with the ones that came in the samplers.

My buddy and I sat on his patio last weekend with drinks and cigars and went though several catalogs writing down all the cigars we haven't tried yet that we really wanted to try. I had about 30 on mine. Although I was pretty drunk and may have been too generous to some of the smaller names that might be predictably bad when I review the list sober.

Cigar prices went up about 10% recently over here, so I keep on looking for sales, the good thing is that I live in a large city in a cigar producing country...

Found some of my regular Te-Amo at 25% discount and some Flor de los Tuxtlas (from a small maker in Veracruz) at half price and I now have about five boxes worth, I finally decided to get a cooler for a humidor, I fitted it with a hard sponge is a small platic tub with holes on the cover for humidity, plain water seems to work fine.

There are a couple of manufacturers right here in Mexico City, they do make some decent stuff (though I generally prefer the Veracruz makers) among other things they make short filler cheapoes from the leftover of the finer cigars, these are not very consistent in quality but sometimes a good batch comes out, I got a tip from a fellow smoker and bought some for about $.75 U.S. each, not too bad if you can live with short ash tip and slightly uneven burn... but they do taste fine.

Wow! With all those cigars in all those humidors, you still have a long list of smokes you want? Sure looks like you have most of the bases covered. I'm pritty new to cigars and have many I'd like to try. I like the more mild ones, got any must try suggestions?

Wow! Thanks FOL!
Now I have a shopping list for the next time I'm at Famous Smoke Shop.
I have an assortment to hold me over until then, but I am looking forward to trying these.

I heard there's a Swiss Army Knife with a cigar cutter in it. (Or a cigar cutter made by a SAK company or something.) Anybody know anything about it or who makes it or anything? Thanks.

I hope it's a Victorinox.

I've been out of action due to a nasty cough that's been circulating through my family. But the last cigar I had about a month ago was a mild one that I really enjoyed, Plasencia Reserva Organica. I'm going to have to buy more of these.

Had a colibri lighter crap out on me. Replaced it with a Xikar due to the warranty and customer service rep of xikar.

You'll be using the Xikar warranty eventually....still better than Colibri/Prometheus/Vektor

More good mild cigars

Aurora Cien Anos (more medium side of mild, amazing flavor, but $$$)
ORIGINAL Montecristos (Dominican) (Classics are their new, lower end line, after the upped the price of the regulars)

I used to use cigar cutters before i am hooked to knives. Figured out that for the price a good cutter costs I can easily get a good pocket knife to do its job and makes my pocket carries less. Of course it will very likely get some negative attention from non-knive people when using a 3"/4" blade to cut a cigar in public but a small knife will fit for this job nicely. My cigar cutter is the Spyderco FRN Ladybug3 PE.
