This Years Holiday Tins

 ...That stamp intrigues me...I doubt if Buck would make up a "special" stamp for WW but anything is possible. I made another trip to Wally's today and found someone who actually "worked" in the area. After I described what I was looking for he mentioned that someone had shown him some knife in a "tin" over the weekend and was talking about how or where to put it up. He wasn't sure if it was a Buck or not. We searched through the Sporting Goods area and was unable to find any Bucks in a tin, clam-pack or otherwise in any display out on the floor. They did have some 110's and 119's and other assorted Bucks in boxes under the counter but they had "NO 112's at all" ...So for me it's still a waiting game. The manager was not there, he was out to lunch, so I'm gonna call after 3 this afternoon to see if he knows anything about the 112's...

If your Walmart is like mine, he may have eaten by 3, but he will still be out to lunch. :D

Here are some better pictures than the ones I did earlier.

...Great looking knife and tin IMHO...Was the knife "exposed" so you could actually see it before ya bought it??...

Yeah, the lid is inside the clear blister pack behind the tin, so you can see the knife before you buy it. The sheath and stand are under the knife, so you can't see them until you open it.

:D :D ...Can't wait til or "IF" my WW has 'em in...I'm a sucker for 112's as you might suspect...LOL...:p :D

I bought one of the 112's at my local Walmart. The clamshell label says the tang stamp is a special one just for this special edition. Also, last year the sheaths for the holiday 110 Walmart special editions drew a lot of justified criticism for being thin and cheap looking. This sheath is much better, looks like it will be pretty durable. All in all, I would say this is well worth even the regular $25 price. Like many, I will be hoping for some post holiday markdowns.

Also, a post above mentioned chipped tips on some of these knives. I looked at about a dozen, saw no chips or any other defects. The lockup on mine is just as tight as any regular 110/112 I own.

Added: I do not know what the total production figure is for this 112, but if the tang stamp is really limited to just this knife, then it might make for long term collectibility.

TLC...great pics as usual. I like that stand gig.

Slufstuff...good data regarding the tang stamp. Thanks!

Does the sheath have the option for horizontal carry?

Any photos of the red bone set? I poked around our wal-mart last night when I was out skateboarding and I didn't see any specials out yet. I'd love to see what the scales look like. I have a knife to return there that's worth 15$, so whenever they put the red bone set or some 110's / 112's out on sale I'm gonna go exchange it for one of those.

 ...Just finished checking five ( 5 ) WW's in a 25 mile radius around Hudson, Florida where I live and none of them have any of the 112's or the SJ's in yet...Most are not aware of what I was talking about when I was telling them what I wanted but that's not surprizing. I'll definitely grab a few if I get the chance...

I checked the sheath, it is setup for both horizontal and vertical belt carry. It really looks to be the same style sheath included in some 110 packaging, just sized for the 112.

Great. Now I have to go to WW and look for the tins. I doubt they will have them as "my"" WW sucks at getting good things.

Yep, after reading all of these posts and seeing the pics, I will have to pick up "some" of these 112's.
TOO cool. I really like the sheath too! Better than last years 110's.
Looks like a great knife, I cant wait until they have them in my area!
Looks like I need to start another Buck knife model in my collection :D

It sure as heck does, I was in such a hurry to get the knife out, I didn't even read it. Calls it a "Exclusive Founder's Edition Blade Stamp".

Those pictures..the sheath...the tang stamp...the tin...the stand and ....oh yea, the knife...$25, I don't know how they do it, but I'm sold!

I went to 2 WW and nothing at either. I guess I will have to keep looking. There was a blister 3 pack of Remington knives that looked like it might be a Christmas offering. Hopefully the Bucks will get here soon.

Two Wally Worlds by me do not have them in yet...just the cheapo winchester and remington three piece sets for $20...I asked one stock person in sporting goods and he thinks there will be some in soon, at least he knew of the 110s last year, but he was not aware of any new tin this year, but he stated the next two weeks there are a few trucks a day coming for the holiday sales.....I'll keep looking....

...That's all I can do as well Tom...The people I spoke to at the stores I went to had no idea what I was talking about except for one (1) fella. I think the turnover in the stores down here must be pretty high. Some of the people mentioned that they had just started or they just came from another store. I'm thinking that the 112's for this year might see a bit of interest all around...

I understand completely... its sooo hard to fight the addiction with all of this information and pictures...
I bet if my computer died it would save me alot of money in the long run :D
I wouldnt even know about these tins yet...
