Thoughts on TwoSun knives

I often take my Chinese edcs to the IPOs that I have to attend! Here's a shot of the Closing Bell studio at a stock exchange

Along with some pretty well

Not to mention Laconico,Hammond and MANY others.

Yeah I suppose Laconico and the like don’t mind having their name and reputation on the line by having their production line knives made by “Cheap Chinese crap companies”

I guess ignorance is bliss...
No,it is a bussines decision and has nothing to do with anything else.Stuff is made in China for big profits and that is all.Quality can be good or crappy but I will stay away from them.If my favourite knifemaker starts outsourcing production to China I will also stop buying his stuff.Simple as that.Cheers.

Everybody has a right to spend their hard earned money where they see fit.

That’s why I choose to not spend 400.00 plus on a slab of Ti and a poorly heat treated s35vn blade. Cheers!

There is a reason Todd Begg, Chavez, Long Mah and others have companies like Reate build their knives.
I bet you would be surprised if you found out which US manufacturers use Two Sun, Tuya, and CH to build knives or make parts for them. If you are in to archery that’s how companies like Bowtech and G5 got started.
I'm actually very interested in this topic. I think if the manufacturers were a bit more transparent about that stuff they would catch at least a little less crap about it. Do you have a couple examples or a link to a collection of that info?

You are right. When you talk about 400 Ti slab, and I know which one you think of ;),then do not forget about that 400 knife has one of the best fit and finish, tolerances, least parts, ease of maintenace, resale value, simplicity which is perfection, great steel which is easy to sharpen and maintain, awesome customer support and not to brag any more,is a yardstick for any other knife company out there. Will and is outlasting most of the knives out there. So if you do not want to spend extra $ for perfection, you loose, but is your $ so power to you my friend.Cheers.

I think nothing. And I buy nothing. Prefer to buy from real people.

And now I’m intrigued as to what the good $400 knife is and the waste of money $400 one is?!

The peeps that make this. I don't find any of what they do to be particularly great. Like this one came to me with a wire edge. But the manufacturer has certain qualities that are lauded.

The thing is they don't hold a Monopoly on that anymore... In spite of this model being one of my favorite edcs ever. I instantly fell in love with it's imperfections even though I rejected 4 other models that I tried before. Eg the pointy thumbstud still sucks. The annodizing rubs off if you look at it the wrong way....you can't flick it well...yet I love it anyhow, great blade shape!

Definitely a nice looking piece.

I’ve owned both and can say that IMO there is no discernible difference in fit and finish.
The only significant difference is in price...

I have the TS81 in G10. It's very nice. Rock solid lock up. Action is on par with knives I have that are 250.00. The G10 is textured and contoured. Excellent D2 blade. It's extremely hard to lay it on the table and point to the bad part. **A large portion of I-phones are made in China too..better throw that garbage away..lol
