Thoughts on TwoSun knives

I have a Twosun that I love and for which I can make a pretty convincing case as to its intrinsic value. I'll make a video and post it here soon.

You are right. When you talk about 400 Ti slab, and I know which one you think of ;),then do not forget about that 400 knife has one of the best fit and finish, tolerances, least parts, ease of maintenace, resale value, simplicity which is perfection, great steel which is easy to sharpen and maintain, awesome customer support and not to brag any more,is a yardstick for any other knife company out there. Will and is outlasting most of the knives out there. So if you do not want to spend extra $ for perfection, you loose, but is your $ so power to you my friend.Cheers.

Looks like over priced clunky garbage, to each their ownies :D

There is a reason Todd Begg, Chavez, Long Mah and others have companies like Reate build their knives.
I bet you would be surprised if you found out which US manufacturers use Two Sun, Tuya, and CH to build knives or make parts for them. If you are in to archery that’s how companies like Bowtech and G5 got started.

Sorry for a little bit necro-quote but that sounds interesting.
Could you chime in more which manufacturers are outsourcing production to CH, TS, Tuya?

As of 4/2021, i own the TWOSUN; TS164 and TS232(Round)
Both of these are perfectly highly milled titanium scales.
The Ts164 is a slip joint blade of m390. flat grind, perfect.
The machining on the Ts232 is perfect.
I own a CR sebenza insingo.
No difference.

I almost bout a TwoSun. However, I don't like that they aren't available from traditional avenues and only amazon, aliexpress, etc.

Why should that make a difference? Lots of "traditional avenues" use Amazon and Ebay....
Doesn't change the fact that TwoSun make excellent knives for a decent price though...

Because counterfeits abound on the platforms they choose to sell on and I don't particularly care for companies that aren't willing to go through established, reputable dealers. If it doesn't bother others, more power to them, but I'm not going to bother with them until that changes.

I have a TS 190. It is a fantastic knife. The design is excellent and ergonomic and i love 14c28n, so it’s a good user for me.

Just buy from the bay and look who the seller is. The 2 for sure legit sellers are twosunknives and d-win99. Ive ordered 10 so far and honestly I'm absolutely shocked how well they are made. Every single one is machined so well, sharp as hell and not one, and I mean not one has a tick of blade play. I only have a handful of knives that I can't detect the tiniest play in and yet every twosun knife ive bought locks up as tight as my zt 0550. Plus for them coming from China ive got mine in 2 weeks. Oh and there is a US seller btw that carries them if you want to go that route. Whitemountain knives has them.

Why should they have to sell using a middle man, your "established, reputable dealers", who incidentally will put their markup on the cost, when they can sell directly to you using a long established marketplace like Amazon? If it saves the 30% markup or whatever it is, then its better for them and their customers. If those "established and reputable dealers" can't compete, well, that is what happens when the competition finds a better way of doing things....Its called capitalism, something the Chinese seem to very good at.....

Here's mine btw.. the bone handle slip joint with the damascus blade, I have the snakewood version on the way also now.

Weird, I put the pic in this response but it separated it to a new msg...?..

Because I can trust the product I get vastly more from an established dealer, I can ask those middlemen to check products and trust them to have the knowledge to do so, I can trust them not to ship me a knife that was previously sold and returned and I'm certain that I'll actually receive the product that I ordered. Far from not being able to compete, those middlemen are the only ones that stand a chance of getting my money. I find them a MUCH better way of doing things, which is likely why they still thrive in the age of Amazon. It's genuinely kind of hilarious that I've stated my preference as a customer, based on my purchasing experiences, and you attempted to imply that the method that I find so very lacking is inherently superior in some way.

I trust eBay vastly less than I trust Amazon. If they want to sell to me they can do so through my outlet of choice. There's nothing wrong with choosing not to do that, but it ensures that I'll not buy them.

My TS232 just arrived and I am really into it. There's some lock stick but it's getting better with use. The lockbar is too aggressive but again, hopefully as it gets use it will chill out a bit.

Here's a good video of the knife by OCD-4-EDC.

I love how it's got both oldschool and modern qualities.

Again, I never started this thread to be a pissing match between American made and Chinese made knives. Or dealers. Or how the knives are shipped, etc...
I get the arguments. I really do. I buy US knives 99% of the time, but I also shop at Walmart... You know what I mean? That’s not what this thread is about.
I bought these on a late night whim and was pretty impressed with what I got. I was looking for feedback from others who had purchased TwoSun knives.
I never got around to giving the knives a proper testing or any real world use. They’ve basically sat in the boxes since I got them. I just prefer my Benchmades and Spydercos and Hinderer for edc.

I have a couple of early TwoSun knives and they were just OK. I actually sent them out to be tested to see if the materials were as advertised with mostly good results. I don't think the overall quality compares with what's coming out of CIVIVI, Artisan, Bestech, Kansept and CJRB though. Although the TC4 construction may seem premium, knives like the CIVIVI Pintail or CJRB Ria and Feldspar outperform as knife-like cutting objects.

The TwoSuns that I have feel a little raw and poorly finished. The fit and action are OK, but the handles have hot spots from poorly finished edges.

As others have said, their distribution method is less than optimal.

Also, most of their designs are fairly derivative.

If you enjoy your TS knives, that's awesome, but IMO there are better choices out there.
