I definitely want to play with one of these. ;) :)

Kevin, you'll be very glad you did, they are amazing pieces of work.

While I don't take on fixed blade sheaths, I focus only on folders, this was
a special request from my wife's uncle and made it as a cross draw to his spec's
I also added the celtic knot concho that I picked up from tandy while in FL
he wanted the sheath to be able to unsnap off his belt to leave in the car quickly.

The guard area of this knife provides a nice snap in feel and gives a secure position
for it in the sheath.

Thanks guys, it's a bit of a pain to do, as you have to put the holes in before you
glue it down, and trim it to the proper edge width also before gluing it down, and the
rough up carefully along the lines so as not to mar the 'good' area of the host piece
that forms the belt loop.

here's a shot of the knife with the top section still going through it's fitup stages
in order to keep that portion of the blade area raised up, I glued two pieces of leather
together to make it thick enough and then cut it to the shape of the blade, then I wrap
the knife in plastic wrap which holds that piece of leather to the blade, so that when I
press HARD around the knife, the blade doesn't push down, but remains up so I can form
the top section you now see.

and for good measure, here's a nice shot of the blade as well;

Gary, that's both a beautiful and very functional sheath for a fixed EDC.

It's getting more difficult everyday to carry even a small fixed blade without getting the "look" from the general public. Being able to remove it from your belt in a hurry is convenient.

Gary, that is a gorgeous sheath for a fantastic knife!!

How does one get in touch with Tim Wright? I would love to get a take down folder. I would wait for years for one, if that is what it took for me to get one.

BTT....

I would love to see pictures of his kitchen knives, especially well used.

I have one of Tim's utility knives (similar to G2's posting above) on order, hope to see it in the not too distant future.

Glad this one got resurrected since I missed it first time around. Gorgeous knives, Tim goes to the top of my "someday if I can afford it" list. I really love the idea of a guy who makes his own screws in a way that includes having to make a unique tool to use them! That concept alone has broadened my horizons considerably, not to mention the flawless workmanship.

Thanks for posting!

Here is my contribution to the thread. I just bought them last week from a collector. I apologize for the white MOP - I just couldn't get a good picture of it.

As you can see, it is an older generation, without all the fancy stuff inside the tool. You can also see how the "innards" have evolved.

I am very satisfied to have those folders, and in fact I placed another order with Tim. However, it doesn't really make sense for me to have 2 of the same design, even with the coolness of the 2 sequential numbers, so I will probably sell the black-lip-pearl folder above.

Congrats on such a score, Joss. You will do well. I have a folder on his next go around also. Might be a while.... ;)

I would LOVE to visit Tim's shop. It is either the cleanest shop in the world, or the other way around. I am hedging it's beyond tidy.... :D

Thanks!

Nice acquisition Joss.

I believe STeven has one on order. Maybe if he gets it by Blade, he can bring it and we can all play with it. :)

Some incredible work. Congratulations Joss.

Gary, did Tim Wright supply a sheath with that knife for your wife's uncle.Your sheath is a beautiful one.How would you rank Tim Wright's sharp edge?.Is he in the same league as Fikes?.If you or other gentlemen here have some more pictures of Mr Wright's knives, would appreciate you posting them, thanks.

Raj, nope the sheath wasn't supplied, but, Tim does offer a VERY nice sheath!

as to sharp, the blades are quite thin, more kitcheny if that's such a word than
ourdoories, his folders are in a whole different league! Extremely well made and
arrive sharp as sharp can be.
