Grififth? why is it you never even fixed your own BF name? i would think a guy would like to see his own name spelled right.

I was never even asked by you to not repeat our conversation. I admit that I assumed you would not want Kit Carson or Richard to know some of your comments (many of which I have not repeated), but I did not say I would not repeat them.

you yourself told me and i agreed that our phone conversation should and would remain private! so this as another flat out lie! Kit and Rich know exactly how i feel about them and whatever "comments" you are dreaming up is bs. i unlike you tell people honestly how i feel about them and if Kit or Rich did something i disagreed with, they already know it.

Originally posted by HermanKnives: i also broke a promise to you that i wouldnt bring your name up on the forums again,

Yes, that is a promise you made to me at Blade Show.
again another lie, i promised you that in our phone conversation after you promised me that conversation would stay private! not at blade show.

The price of the Forum knife is $320. I have extended a choice of Stabilized Box Elder, Stabilized California Buckeye, or the option of having me choose a different stabilized wood that I hand pick at the next Blade Show.

$400 then after some discounts its $320.
that isnt what i read on your forum but i am sure you have edited it. your wording in the post i read was handle material would be stabilized wood but I will choose which one when you order comes up! and if you order 2 knives you wont get natching handles! oh well
I only ban those that are hostile. I do listen to my customers (and others) and have made numerous improvements to my knives over the past 13 years, and over the past few months. My knives are not perfect. They never will be perfect. I do make every effort possible though, to improve them in every way possible.

i remember seeing some honest non hostile comments posted on your forums that were deleted pretty fast by you, such as the review from chiro. an unbiased review that just happened to mention a few minor negative remarks, but deleted and he was banned after that. when Rich was a moderator there you even told him not to post anything negative.

Tim, I do not think you are a bad guy. I just feel like you have a major dislike for me. I hope someday that will change. And while we may never be friends, I do want you to know that I respect your abilities as a knifemaker, and a knife designer, and your 23 years of experience as such.

lynn, i and quite a few other makers have a dislike for the way you conduct yourself and the way you do business. i believe there is room for everyone in this business who wants to make knives, if they are honest and have integrity. so far i and many others have not seen this from you. if i seemd harsh at times it is because i have put many years into the knife business with makers of integrity and honesty and i cant stand to see anyone abuse the principles that the Knifemakers Guild and the many makers around the world have worked so hard to establish, just to say beat your own drum and say "look at me, aint i great?" and your comment to Rich's 13 year old daughter "arent i cute?" simply apalls(sp) me. after our phone conversation i thought we could be friends after that, i see now that isnt possible as you continue to lie and make up things, and you damn well did promise to keep that conversation private and asked the same of me!

Hey Tim. Is that a new BF rule? I can only respond to threads that are addressed to
me..?? I figured since you were a moderator and all, you`d know the rules better than me! I guess I`ll stay out of this.

i said i was sorry and for you to post more and have a ball! obviously you read it at well as you read everything else i said.(sarcasm
biggrin.gif
) i hope this dont fly over your head too.

It`s just knifemaking you guys! We`re not curing cancer here! If you don`t like Lynn, fine. But why all the hostility? What`s up with you guys?

again, if you cant see "whats up", then keep reading my posts til it sinks in

if ever.

Yeah Hoodoo, If you don't have any steak, get the heck out of this thread. Come on over to my house and we will dine on juicy steaks and single malt scotch. It has got to be a lot more fun than this weenie roast.
wink.gif

I'm out of here. Maybe this thread will be funnier later, but I doubt it. It's not serving any purpose anymore (and I'm not sure it ever really did), and I don't see much humor in it either. Tim has spoken. Lynn has spoken. And there just doesn't seem anywhere good for this thing to go anymore.

Paracelsus, tired of Lynn bashing

Thanks, Jeremy, for setting me straight. I can't begin to tell you how much I value your opinion. I've finally realized how much is at steak here. Surely you and everyone else who has a TRUE steak here are concerned only with the knife community. I see that now. I just didn't realize who I was dealing with. I have only a chuck steak and we are talking porterhouse steaks here. HONOSTLY, I had no idea the kind of big shots I was dealing with. In truth, I thought you were a weenie but I can see that I was wrong. You are obviously something quite different. But I will check my freezer and see if I can find a steak as big as yours. Otherwise, I'm having weenies [oops, i meant stakes] with Paracelsus.

Hoodoo, having fun with weiners on the Internet

Paracelsus,
I'm not really particular but which single malt were you thinking of?

Hey, maybe Jeremy was right. This thread is getting funnier.
smile.gif

Hoodoo, I never eat weenies. I roast em. But others will have to eat them. It's BBQ steak at my place tonight. At least until the kids home with the candy.

If anybody is playing a fearless vampire killer tonight for Halloween, please drive a stake into the heart of this thread. It's the only way to kill it. It seems immune to the light of day and is getting darker and more dangerous all the time.

So, Para, is everyone gonna go down to the Firestone Grill and down a few, gettin' rowdy and Sh1T, after the BBQ? SLO has some good spots! This isn't a weenie roast, this is all about cocktail weenies! Frickin' Bastids!

Every now and then, Tim needs comes out of the woodwork and bury the needle on the bozo meter. Obviously, Tim et al are the keepers of "the Truth" in the knifemaking world. Everyone else, especially ME, should keep silent. Or maybe I`m just missing his subtle wit again?

(I just wonder why Tim begrudges Lynn his $500 knives when you can`t touch any HermanKnives offerings for less than a grand? Sheesh!)

HankS, if I still resided in SLO town, I would probably hang out at McClintocks. They serve turkey nuts, ya know. There are some of them here in this thread. But the intoxicants made by Firestone, Estrella River, and Edna Valley, just to name a few, are very fine indeed. I hear Firestone is even fermenting beer, as well as wine

Although a graduate of SLOSH High, I am currently incarcerated in Maryland. It's not so bad really. I have the run of the whole state, and the rest of the country too, should I choose to roam around. But it's not like Home. I miss that place. So I honor it by hiding my true location by telling folks where I was made. Not where I am.

Cheers

steve for the last time.....i dont begrudge lynn getting any amount on his knives IF they are worth the price. but $400 for a knife you could build in a few hours charging that much to me is just wrong. i offerd his followers the same type forum knife for $150. if you would keep track, i also offered a d2 using sliver for $650 months ago, please try and keep up?

again you just dont really bother to see the POINT of my posts at all. does the word ETHICS or INTEGRITY mean anything at all to you? obviously not. you just keep posting the same complaints over the wrong points.

also as i said earlier, this thread is basically between Rich, Lynn and myself and i hoped it would stay that way. i just wanted it in public so people would see the real lynn. funny he still hasnt answered my questions eh?

stevie, you are missing way more than my subtle wit

SteveB, with all due respect, this is My idea of the 'Bozo Meter": Go to Lynn's web site. Look it over. Read the titles of his forums. Look at a few of the posts. Then...

If you are NOT rolling on the floor laughing, the Bozo Meter is off the scale! You Are a Bozo. And being a Bozo is a Bozo No No. You lose. A Griffith knife is in your future. Congratulations!

(My apologies to those who may not understand me. This thread is so ridiculous that I could not help or prevent an unconscious indulgence in a completely ironic, satirical and non-sensical reflection on the absurdity of Caring about Any of This. Anybody who understands me should kill themselves promptly to avoid more unecessary pain and suffering)

Why is it people who don't like a thread feel the need to post in it? And then keep reading it after they have bit ched about it. Some even keep posting in the thread for days. No need to answer I think I know why.

db,
Beats the hell out of me. I own a LG knife that was reviewed by several prominent collectors last year, and my name has been mentioned. Why have you been posting?

Will Kit Carson post more? Will Tim Herman start a public forum at www.onelist.com that only he, Richard, and Lynn will be allowed to post in? Will the needle on the Bozo Meter be buried? Will anyone understand Paracelsus and kill themselves promptly? Tune in tomorrow, Gentlebeings, for the next exciting installment in As the Teeth Grind, brought to you by The Mouth-Soap for Potty-Mouths....

I was planning to declare Halloween over at midnight and lock this thread, but I can't bring myself to do it ... there's been so much activity in the past few minutes it doesn't look this thread could be killed yet even with a steak through the heart (that's the only way you can kill a sap-sucking vegetarian vampire, they say....)

I'll grant a reprieve til dawn and then we'll see ... maybe the blessed light of the sun will shrivel this thread into dust ... maybe the Bozo Meter will spin around so fast it'll explode ... see above for more maybes ... tune in tomorrow, folks ...

Who knows ... maybe we'll all understand Paracelsus and kill ourselves promptly ... it could be The End Of The World As We Know It ... just to be on the safe side, don't go back and reread that post, okay?

cougar,

i am through posting here as i have made my points and all have seen how lynn evades the questions and tries to cover things he has said in the past and on his forums. if people in the knife business cant see it after all this, then they must have blinders on.

you can close this thread now as it is plain to see lynn wont answer my questions. that only proves my point further. all his evading the issues and trying to turn it back on me.

lynn, get into politics, you are perfect for it!

steve b, try and keep up.

Man I am almost sorry I sent this thread over here. At the same time it is interesting to see how many folks just don't get it when it comes to Tim's point of honesty and integrity. Hang around some established knife people (I am talking the folks who have respect across all lines of the industry) - one day it will come to you if you open your mind a little.

(back into my hole covering it up with dry leaves and dirt)

After reading 2 1/2 pages (most of which is complete nonsense posted by folks who have absolutely no idea what is really going on) I think with that one little paragraph, Gus Kalanzis just summed the whole thing up!!! Thanks for adding something worth reading Gus!!! Perhaps some of you folks should re-read that paragraph and try real hard to understand it!
