It's like dog years, one hour feels like 7!

I started using PSA sandpaper on a 3" wide piece of angle iron clamped in a vice recently and run the knife instead of a sanding block. Seems to work good so far. I start at 400 off the grinder.
 
Great looking blade.

It doesn't really take you ten hours to sand one side of that, does it?
I hope not. Usually once I get it to an honest 120, the rest go more quickly. At this stage I'm still blending a mostly flat bevel with a convex edge. My fingers and arms were tired last night so I might have been pessimistic.
Perhaps I'll roughly time myself to finish the hand sanding...
