Top 10 things every man should own sometime in their life

Mention of a stick shift made me think there's a list of skills every man should have.

Then every man should have had a dangerous girlfriend at some time or other, the sort that drinks pints, gets you into fights and will tell you you are doing a runner from a restaurant as she stands to go.

As for things to own...
Land
Boat
something passed down from father to son

An education.
Work you enjoy.
Family.

Everything else is icing on the cake.

Knives with the latest super steel, acute edges at full mirror polish.

Stuff to cut.

Guns.

Explosives.

Woods, ya know, the kind where you can't hear cars, cell phones are useless for anything but apps and if you break your legs, you'll be joining the circle of life shortly.

Toys, the motorized kind, preferably muddy, dusty, covered in tire bits and begging for a new owner.

Finally, for retirement, a man cave filled with a chest full of blue pills, a full bar and pictures for you to show your friends and family how awesome your life was.

A good mancave in the country with lots of land. For those stuck in the city, a remote getaway or cabin to escape from the urban routine on a regular bases

Depends on that, My 96 Rotary powered Rx7 Handles way better than any V8 powered car and Smokes most vettes and mustangs at the track. Nice to see someone that appreciates RWD tho!

To John the OP. I like your list and can say I have all of those. Even the two motorcycles. Ha!

3. A magazine fed centerfire rifle with at least a couple of the features that get Pelosi's panties in a bunch

This thread needs more pics:

The watch:

The pen (which is actually chrome, but hard to photograph apparently. Also comes in gold):

1. A marriage certificate (I don't own my wife)
2. A well trained dog
3. A pickup with a manual transmission.
4. A reliable sidearm that you shoot well.
5. A favorite shotgun.

7. Land.

10. A last will and testament.

Number three is getting harder and harder to find a suitable replacement for, but the rest will never change.

Several folks have mentioned dogs. I've never owned a dog; several have owned me. That has always been our relationship.

10. A last will and testament.

This is an important addition to the list. Depending on your situation and the state you live in, a will may not be all you need. An advanced care directive and a healthcare power of attorney are usually good ideas, especially if you don't like the idea of hanging on for years on artificial life support. And, if you're married, you may need a community property agreement; it's not automatic in all states. The best thing you can leave is to have all of this done so that your survivors don't have to go through a legal mess.

I only mention owning the dog because the time/effort/money put into the training. But yes, a dog owns you as much as you own it.:D I'm pretty sure mine thinks its a person not a pet.
After seeing what several family members have gone through, I've got everything lined up, at least according to my lawyer. Everything is pretty well spelled out to what I want done. No wake, no funeral, no marker. Wife gets everything but the boat. She hates it anyway.;)
