[h=2]Top 10 things every man should own sometime in their life[/h]I was listening to Bob and Tom radio show and they had this list. I feel like BF members are a cut above the rest. We have better lists. Of course I would say a spouse, a house, kids, etc. go without saying. I want this to be more toward edc, but contribute the way you wish. Keep in mind I don't mean that these are the only things that one should own, and my list isn't perfect. Perhaps your choices will bump some of mine out of the way.
Have fun, show me better choices- even if you can't get 10, or if you want to list more than 10.
Here's mine:
1. A firearm
2. A folding knife
3. A motorcycle
4. A Backpack- everyday edc or a dedicated mountain pack.
5. A motorcycle
6. A dog
7. A four wheel drive vehicle
8. A toolbox full of tools
9. A zippo lighter
10. A laptop computer
John

I think most of the answers posted so far are answering a different question entirely, something like "Top 10 things every man should own at all times." I think the original question is more interesting; it's something that doesn't get posted a dozen times a year.

I've owned all the things in the original list at some time in my life. (I've even had two motorcycles at the same time.) I no longer have some of them and I don't miss them much, but I'm glad I had and used them.

I no longer have a 4wd vehicle and my current fwd with good winter tires is serving my current needs just fine.

I no longer have a motorcycle ... I miss that, kinda, but I'm more interested in ways of getting outdoors that involve more exercise now -- bicycling and walking and maybe come spring I'll get back into canoeing or kayaking.

I don't miss having a laptop computer a bit -- I'm all set with my tablet and desktop.

I still have a couple of zippo lighters put away in a drawer somewhere ... not sure which drawer....

I definitely miss having a dog, but not enough to take on the responsibility again, not right now. Maybe again someday....

I have plenty of firearms, knives, backpacks and shoulder bags, and tools, and I use them. (Well, maybe not all of them ... not frequently....)

Well, dayyyyum, i guess my life must be about over cause i have/had everything on the original list & many from the others. Except my truck of choice is my 2008 Dodge Power Wagon Quad Cab w/G56 6-speed manual trans & the Hemi. But i am a frequent fueler. How come they give no free gas if you are a frequent fueler ??? LOL :D

I'm so blessed my list is quite complete.
1 a good woman
2 children
3 a good side arm preferably 1911
3 full size truck if possible 4X4
5 a good shotgun, rifle
6 motorcycle
7 fine Swiss watches
8 good knives.
9 convertible sport car
10 good cameras

It's true about wife and kids. You have them, but they own you.

I would double up on side arms and watches.

A wife to grow old with (not really own, but cherish)
kids (same as above)
a shotgun, knife and 1911
a classic car
a baseball bat, ball and glove
weights
a tool box full of USA made tools
a pizza stone
levis
a tough watch

TedP

I give my wife Dutch ovens all the time! But I use the sheets...not cast iron. That sounds like abuse man.

14. a hot date with a girl named Kate who thinks you're cool because you shoot straight and there isn't one thing about her that's fake. She's long and tall and goes great with cold beer and hot wings

For my REAL list (thought that one is pretty solid) I thinkten things is an arbitrary number and I don't really get why we limit it to that. So I didn't. :D

3. A copy of Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover
4. good EDC knife (folder, SAK, MT whatever)

10. a concealed carry permit (unless your state doesn't require one)

12. Computer with internet connection
13. a good hat
14. decent sunglasses that compliment his face and style of dress
