Top 10 things every man should own sometime in their life

Alot of these lists seem really good, but i really think every man should own and try and shave with a straight razor at some point in their life.
 
My list would consist of:

1. Responsibility

2. A good understanding of the Constitution (if you're a US citizen)

3. Humility

4. A good sense of humor

5. Numerous good books (which are read again and again)

6. A dog

7. A good pocket knife

8. Manual transmission truck

9. A good pair of cowboy boots

10. Lever action Marlin or Winchester
 
Just a few to add ( IMHO ):

1. A Baer 1911 / any model
2. A Busse Combat knife w/ a Rowe sheath / any model
3. A bottle of old Scotch (no teenagers)
4. An English double-gun
5. A Cuban cigar
6. A good pair of leather boots
7. A Freedom Arms "packin' pistol" with a custom leather rig
8. A nice custom, accurate hunting rifle with quality glass
9. A bottle of Brooklyn Black Ops
10. A red-headed girlfriend

Does a redheaded wife count?
 
A good education
A quality knife
A working knowledge of philosophy
A true understanding of the self
Enough survival knowledge to get by (or a book on the subject)
A record player
A journal and a good fountain pen
A good leather belt ( comes in handy more than you think )
Desire to know and to understand

I'll tell ya right now if I did that list, a lot of fellas in this thread wouldn't be happy. Truth be told a real man does what he wants and doesn't care what people think about it (so long as it doesn't negatively affect anyone) and if he has an interest or likes a tv show or movie or drives a car that isn't manly he owns it instead of hiding it and hoping his friends don't find out.

Keeping this a bit vague to allow for each person's personal preferences.

1) A dog. (wouldn't be without one)

2) Impractical car bought for the fun of driving. (Honda S2000 in my driveway)

3) Man-sized pickup truck. (replaced my Ford F150 with an F350)

4) Firearm and training. (Plenty of training, but never owned a firearm)

5) Work clothes and boots. (always)

6) His own tools. (real men do not mooch tools)

7) Motorcycle. (Had one since 2004, and have ridden it cross-country)

8) Musical instrument. (Fender Stratocaster)

9) Hiking and outdoor gear. (always)

10) ?
 
Everyones added a lot. These are the only ones I couldn't see...

- A first edition book
- A scar that means something
- A bank account that will help your child/children
- A memory of something you've done so beautiful/dangerous/reckless/stupid/wild/crazy that can help you think that you;ve done something and you can always remember it and smile.

A piece of land large enough to need a compass
A large powerful revolver

By no means comprehensive:

1. Photos of your many adventures
2. An enduring accomplishment
3. An EDC item that you have carried every day, for years
4. Some completely inappropriate and possibly illegal fireworks :D
5. A pair of high end sunglasses that fit you perfectly
6. A library half full of books you've read, and half full of books you'll read
7. A passport, well used
8. A projectile launching device (anything from a slingshot to a shotgun)
9. Bogota Lockpicks
10. Unusually useful skills
 
In no particular order:

1) A fine watch.
2) A tailored suit.
3) A fine pen.
4) Custom tailored shoes
5) A fine car (have your pick of luxury or sports car)
6) A firearm (custom if you can swing it)
7) A custom knife
8) A decent espresso machine
9) A French press for when you don't have time to make espresso
10) A burr grinder

*I like coffee. A lot of the things I've listed are also milestone things I intend to get after reaching milestones in life. I'll knock off 2, 3, and maybe 4 from the list in about 2 years. I've already got 6 inbound.

Are you by chance a member on one of the coffee forums? I agree that every man needs to own a good way of getting coffee.

5: a home suited to you
6: land to put it on
7: tools, lots of em.
8: a mechanical watch

10: the ability to cook.
