Toughest Folder You own and why

My Spyderco Salt is pretty tough...it can survive environments that few other knives could.
Salt 1 for 5 years working as a landscaper. It is serrated and has seen alot of use. Things I cut with it: Sod, plastic bags, plastic straps, weed removal, rope - hemp, cotton and nylon, small branches, cardboard, U nail removal and lots of other stuff.
Maintenance - Occasional sharpening on the Sharpmaker. Rinse out with water. Lube of the pivot, not so much. This thing is ugly but takes a beating an comes back for more.

my rajah II lol... its a folding klo fixed blade :)

my benchmade 551 griptilian in 440c has been through hell and back with me
ive done everything short of digging holes and cutting nails with it lol

however, i have retired my grip from rotation and im testing out my new 2010 cold steel mini ak-47... im really feeling the new demko tri-ad lock. just wish this thing came in s30v or vg10 options (wouldnt mind paying a little more) and this thing would be a real contender with spyderco, benchmade, ZT and knives of the like.

no no no, im not a CS fanboy lol. just truly impressed with the tri-ad system.

The toughest folder I've seen and own is made by John Greco, perhaps one of the best makers of tough blades that most people haven't heard of.

My toughest folder is my folding smatchet,or my folding sharpened prybar.:p

Pics? Greco's stuff has nice lines & doesn't cost an arm & a leg either.

my toughest knife is a small sebenza... why 'cause it's the only knife i've had last me more than 12 years. most others have had locks break, blades chip out, rust or have been trade or given away for sucking. not that it matters but when i need a TOUGH knife i reach for a fixed blade

kershaw leek, carried for 8 years. did it all, got an axe to split wood with. my new manix 2 is probubly my toughest folder. though i much prefer my spyderco stretch zdp for edc now. if i had to absolutly get a folder for splitting wood id go with the 2010 recon 1 based on reviews and based on the fact that id never baton on a $300 knife, friggin retarded.

Toughest folder I own at this time would be my Carrillo Tripwire. The reason is it's built like a tank. Everything on this piece is overdone, but that's a good thing!

I've got a couple of Sebbys and an Al Mar SERE. I wouldn't worry about breaking either one of them. Sebs might have a little stronger lock and pivot, and the SERE probably has a tougher blade. I'm really surprised at the uniformity of the group in this thread.

My toughest folder is the Gerber Covert, it has taken all kinds of abuse and I keep the tough 154CM double edge blade razor sharp on both sides.

I believe my ZT-301 to be my toughest, although my Benchmade biggies (610, 630, etc) - and new CRK Umnumzaan - are up there, too. Of course, the last time I was around rhino's, hippo's, and elephants, all I had was a Vic 'Craftsman' SAK - sufficient for trimming lunch. It's all you need at Birmingham's 'Jimmy Morgan Zoo'.

I own and use many folders, but the Benchmade Skirmish is the only one that has taken all that I would expect from a 'pre broken' knife AND more.

I have even batoned with it and its not failed me.
