Tracker, love it or hate it....(pic)

Red Scorpion,
Great to hear from you on this subject, and good job standing behind your product. I can imagine alot of knife makers out there not responding nearly as well as you have, and you have my respect for it. I will get one of your knives if it is in Carbon for sure..I owned one of your originals, and if not for the Stainless and the saw being cut to close to the tip..It would have been a keeper. I can't wait for your next shot at this cool design. Gene

Thanks for you comments. I appreciate your support. We are Constantly trying to improve and never consider ourselves above the scrutiny of the end user.

Hey what do you guys think of this type of Kydex Sheath?

Guess I am just too out of it and not in with the Hip scene. lol
What are you asking the sheath or knife weight?
weighs about a bit over a pound

Yeah the knife. I was referring to the scene in the movie Snatch, where Turkish picks up Tommys gun (which doesn't shoot) and says...."its a bit heavy innit" Tommy was duped into buying a useless gun. I have the same feeling about the Tracker.

I'm gonna get some saddle leather for my new WSK.I got nothin against kydex I just love leather sheaths.

Never tried one; never owned one; see all kinds of things that make me think I won't like it; will try to keep an open mind if one ever comes my way...donations accepted.

:)

Red might like to make up the 'new prototype' of carbon 1095 and let us have a Passaround here with it. What could be better actual user feedback, than a bunch of real knife owners that go out and use their knives? Gauntlet thrown.....

Oh, and that Kydex sheath would be ok without that snagger on the bottom, oh, another 'firesteel'....

Why you want throw down a gauntlet. You know I did that with the first one why would you think anything would change. I have alot of REAL knife owners and users with our knives, but I am always up for more as long as the Passaround doesn't end up in NOSS's shop before it get's through the group.

I will probably do another lottery for a matched set. Something like the last time. You can get a view of the entire package.

The "snagger" is removable.

Red you took my post the wrong way. I was'nt aware of your first passaround, and i think this is a pretty fair, and straight talking bunch of outdoor folks that could give decent commentary. I said'snagger' because if you travel through brush that's what a firesteel placed down there would do. you have a unique product, let folks help you work it into something sellable, engage the marketplace.

If the prototype was available you could ship it to Brian. who in turn could bring it to the 25-30 person gathering at the end of April. we could all critique it at the same time, and discuss it's merits in hand. You would get it back within a week with 25-30 opinions based upon real world use in a camp setting. I'm not interested whether or not your WSK can lift a car, pry open a tank, etc; I want to see how it's features add up in a realtime camp setting.

1Tracker,
I did not take anything the wrong way, I am cool with whatever. I don't get too excited over being criticized it happens quite frequently. I understood the snagger part. lol

I am all for a pass around. I don't think I am not ready to put the prototypes out right now until we can get settled on the sheath systems. We are try to decide on standard sheath material and who is getting that work. I am trying to put together a complete survival rig with the 2 knives in a modular setting. I will put a produced piece in your hand by June when we do our official Public launch. Currently the only folks I am giving pre-order release to are the RS6 customers and Campfire Talks members(which are basically the same group).
The talk about NOSS is simply a joke against the destruction testing he did on our Predator WSK recently. He has a video and thread going. He has a great idea going and if he could standardize the testing and apply a rating I think he could really be on to something.

I ain't scared of review, just not going to be giving one up to Tactical Knives for a review. lol

Sounds realistic to me, I do hope that you allow the folks here in this Forum the opportunity to have a passaround when the system is ready. Like I sadi, a great time for us here would be during one of the WSS Gatherings where a large group of members can give immediate feedback and have an in person dialogue to get past glitches/misundrstandings about your product while it's in hand. Actually, it would be great for you to join us and be there 'anonomyously to hear it yourself.

Dylside who posts here is trying to start up a sheathing business. I've emailed with him a number of times regarding it. Dylan seems like a hardworking guy looking for a break. Why not speak with him about sheathing your product? This would get Dylan out of the gate sorta speak and you could work a pretty good deal out for both of you I suspect.

I am up for talking to anyone about doing projects. We are in an aggressive growth phase and looking at a number of areas. We are developing a range of products and will be launching a number of different types this year or at least it is on the project board to do so.
I am trying to put together a tight knit group to get subject matter expertise on each category and produce the best product we can as that result, but there is a lot of that information on www.campfiretalks.com
I am interested have him email me aaron@redscorpionsix.com do you have his website information, so I can see some of his work?
