Hey what do you guys think of this type of Kydex Sheath?
Woot! I like that sheath! Similar to the one I made for my RS6 Predator, but yours looks much nicer:
The WSK design captured my imagination upon first sight. The idea of a single blade multi-tool really appealed to me. After pondering the various models available at the time, I finally bit the bullet and invested in an RS6 Predator. Everything I imagined about the knife came true for me. Though I didn't subject the knife to any abuse, I put it through the paces of what I would expect from a knife of it's size and caliber. The RS6 Predator functioned spectacularly for me! After a day of chopping and being batoned to split wood, it still carved nicely and needed very little work to refresh the edge to shaving sharp.
The following pics are from my first 'real test' of the knife. It has since accompanied me on every trip since.
I figured the very tip of the blade may be a week point, so when batoning I tried to give myself a striking point as far in from the tip of the blade as possible:
And though I did not picture any examples here, the saw teeth make notching quick and easy.
The Predator is a great tool. Thanks Aaron!
Someday I hope to own few more and different WSKs. First on my list would be to have Tim Horan make a JEB EVO-style or EST-style piece. Mr. Koster's design intrigues me, too. So many variations, so little funds. Someday...
