Trade gone south

Hi Ganja,
This isn't a flame, but simply a question: If you don't "smoke" then why the handle? Unfortunately, these forums don't allow for instant identification of a person's habits & character when one first starts posting & people make assumptions based on screen names & signature lines. Perhaps the handle "Ganjakid" was an unfortunate choice.
Hope the issue at hand is resolved to everyone's satisfaction.
 
I went out to the mail box today and the knife in question was there. I assume someone had grabbed it the day it came and carefully removed it and resealed the package, then got a pang of conscience and returned it today.I want to appologize to Ganjakid here as well, I have already emailed him and told him. Sorry guy, but what else could I think? And thanks to the forumites who came forward in support, and Ira, you BASTID, you're a great friend, thanks. I'm really amazed at the way this community sticks together, I appreciate all of you guys.

Well it is good to see that the knife was truely sent back. I still wonder though what happened to the original knife that was supposed to be sent to Jake in this trade, but even though I would love to know why it was never sent, it might be better just to let this whole thing drop.
 
I want to add some things. Both Jake and Kevin were absolute gentleman. Kevin was/is very passionate about his integrity and honesty falling into question AT THE SAME level as Jake's. I guess I too would have reacted to a trade gone South just like this originally began. First Only Jake mailed out HIS knife. kevin held on to his Buck UNTIL he had both knives in his hand. Kevin then decided he did not like it, possibly embellished on what Kevin called was poor craftmanship, and function and SHIPPED jack's knife back. Kevin, this is a No-NO. Both knives really need to ship almost immediately, and then follow up with a quick E-mail: "knife is on the way"
But, this is knife trading/selling ettiquette, not "theft by Deception"

Jack has eaten crow, but it MUST be remembered that a THIRD party removed THAT knife and ONLY after some pressure to the Postal Authorities, did jake's knife show up un-trashed.........Ira
 
Damn, I'm kinda glad that nobody asked me just how I knew that "Ganja" (weed) was something to smoke to get "high" on!.:D.:eek:.:D.:cool:.:D.

Jake, first off apology accepted:D secondly,(this is not directed straight to Jake, but to all) you might ask why did I get so bent out of shape and try to defend myself, because I knew 100% that I did exactly what I said I did, and that was send the knife back to you. My reputation had not even started on BF and it was going down in flames already. All you formites have no idea what I'm about, my reputation goes far deeper than these forums, I have the respect and trust of people with more power than anyone on these forums could ever dream of having. Was I telling the truth when I said I really didn't care what was said about in here? Yes and No, yes because you were attacking my honor and integrity, no because I've had worse happen to me and have always bounced right back. Did yun'z think you were gonna chase me out of BF? NOT!!!!! I wouldn't even have changed my name like some suggested I might. Would this have stopped alot of people from dealing with me? Probably, I could have lived with that,logy cause I'm not in here to make a living, I'm a collector, bottom line. What really fried my cookies, is how quick you all drew a conclusion so fast, Just because someone has been on here for ever, doesn't mean their word is gospel. You all need to slow down and learn to read between the lines. Maybe some of yun'z in here need to stand in front of a mirror and ask yourselves, am I really what I see? You might not like the answer you hear. As far as the the posting from me about making fun of my user name and sig. line, no I DON'T SMOKE DOPE, I DON'T EVEN DRINK, my only vices in life are Kools, Mt.Dew (lots of it), knives, and most importantly my FAMILY. I gonna leave you with this note,when I say I'm gonna do something you can bet I'm gonna do it, and when I say something you can believe me it will be the TRUTH, and if you try to undermine and say it isn't and I know 100% that it is, you will have one hell a battle on your hands, cause I WON'T BACK DOWN FROM NO MAN. What the heck one more note. There's a person on these forums you all had better bow down and sing praises to and thats the WOLFMAN, because if it weren't for him this thing would have gotten rather ugly. Jake, I know your reading this and to say again I do accept your apology, but there's one thing you must do for me. And that is to accept mine. Ganjakid, please accept all our apologies for doubting you. Jake is a fellow who keeps his word which is why many jumped in on his side. I can truly understand how upset you must have been knowing that you did return the knife. Again please excuse us all.

I have found this to be a very odd thread, but am glad things have worked out.

1. Jake posts that he has been wronged

2. Ganjakid strongly denies the accusation. I don't know the man, and while his name and signature line does not inspire confidence, he is vehement in his denial of the accusation. No one believes him.

3. Everyone piles on Ganjakid

4. Threats are made

5. Thread enters the "weird zone" where someone offers to spend $1000 to settle a $75 issue. I find this very bizzare

6. Knife is found. I find it remarkable that someone would steal a knife, carefully reseal the package and replace it in the mailbox, then return the knife to the same mailbox without explaination days later.

I don't know Jake, but many people seem to respect and like him here, and on that basis I will accept his statement as the truthful recollection of the facts for now.

Now here is something to consider, what if Ganjakid posted an explaination similiar to Jake's? What would the reaction be? Probably would not be too positive.

Maybe it is a good idea we do not have a judicial system in this country that is based on public opinion.......
 
THE STRANGEST part of this entire thread is MY offer to spend MY MONEY to help some folks I DO NOT KNOW FIND JUSTICE.

Of course, many will find it strange, bizarre, or weird. Justice comes ONLY from TAX dollars. But if you understood ME and WHAT I BELIEVE IN, and how much VALUE I put on a "MAN'S WORD", then you would NOT find it strange that I have here, as I HAVE DONE for over 25 years, OFFERED to HELP, and provide WHATEVER it takes to FIND JUSTICE. I learned a long time ago that TAX dollars never bought MUCH JUSTICE.

IF you think of this in a any way but the simplest concept of this entire issue; HONESTY and one's WORD above ALL, you will have found this weird, ME VERY WEIRD, and my entire LE career the WEIRDEST one you have EVER SEEN.

NOT everything involves MONEY as a COMMODITY. SOMETIMES it is needed to get to the HEART of an ISSUE. IF something is IMPORTANT enough, money is always SECONDARY... ...At least, to me.....Ira;)

I edited to fix the Dreaded Horizontal Scroll of Death. (If you post an unbroken string of a million characters with no spaces the poor dumb software can't do wordwrap with that, so the post is shown a million characters wide and in order to read it we all have to scroll back and forth until we get so dizzy we fall out of our chairs.) -Cougar Allen :{)

Stephen Wright said that Someone broke into my house last night and stole everything I owned and Replaced them with an Exact Duplicate!...:D

O.K. --- Well at least two people stood up and said they were wrong , now where are all the others that jumped on the ganja is an ass train ? Think maybe they need to be the man Jake and Ganja were .
