Traditional knives and records

Thread keeps gettin' funner. Tune your low E string down to D, and play along on Turkish Tram Conductor Blues. The Move was less known in the US than in the UK. Knife is Old Forge 028 small lockback.

@NJBillK
That's a sowbelly to write home about, FBC!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
"Take me!!" from "Bang a Gong" is one of the greatest lines in rock and roll, IMHO! :D

Donovan's groovy knife is a Frost Cutlery (Pakistan) 'Hoof & Hay' with psychedelic Frostwood covers. Make hay while the sun shines, Superman.

Donovan is a guilty pleasure of mine! ;) How are those Old Forge knives, GE Jr GE Jr ?

These are all bands that I thought I had never heard but of coarse I had. Thank you for reintroducing me to the tunes and now I know who they are.
Gary, while searching Bad Finger I came across their really sad story. :(
I just thought they were a band that had some catchy tunes that reminded me of Beatles music when I was in college. Until your mention, I knew nothing about their tragic history.

MC5! True rock n roll! ...
As someone born and raised in Michigan, I was a big MC5 fan. But I still get MC5 and Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels mixed up. :(

A favorite of mine. Glad to see it in someone else's library.

44OT??

I wonder if this is the origin of the "Where's Waldo" craze?;)

Thanks - it's an Old Forge OF032 (div of Rough Rider?), 4-1/2" closed, Ram's horn, filework on back spring. I should probably take a proper pic of it someday. Edit: I never knew about the power chord thing, either.

Frost Cutlery 'Hoof & Hay'...a Secret Santa gift this past Christmas.

I should've put this info in originally. Posts edited. :p:D
Sometimes it's fun it's fun to keep 'em guessin'.
I thought your rams horn Old Forge might have been a custom!:thumbsup:

Thanks, flatblackcapo for starting this thread. Great to see those of us who still play LPs. I have been playing this LP quite a lot lately along with their Together Forever LP. I have many more LPs than traditional knives.:D Preston

Another album I don't think I have heard. I'm glad you are liking it, I look forward to seeing your knives and records.

Thanks, GT. The 2 Old Forge examples that I have are certainly interesting knives with Ram's Horn, Burlwood, copper bolster, etc. They are (I believe) a house brand of the same company that owns Rough Rider, but I don't think the examples I have are quite as good as the few RR's that I own as far as mechanics and F&F.

Of all the albums I lost, this one stings the most. My friend’s mom that became a hot yuppie, gifted me this album. I couldn’t believe she liked this music and even less that she was at Woodstock. I was floored and treasured the album, because it was the first time I realized things aren’t what they seem sometimes. I never stopped pondering the secret lives of individuals when they became suburbanites. I’ve become one of those individuals, today.

Love this thread.

Mitch Ryder was pretty high energy IIRC! ;)

Thanks for the reactions, GE Jr GE Jr .:thumbsup:

Here's an album that always puzzled me (until I googled it last week ). The spine of the cover calls the album "Hey Jude", but the label on the LP calls it "Beatles Again".

These guys opened for the Pretenders back in 1980. Had 2nd row seats at Woolsey Hall. Some shows you just never forget. :)

I've actually got that album. On CD too, I think. I've got something like 250 different ska albums on CD. I only have the LP because an old customer of mine had a bunch of vinyl that his wife was making him get rid of. I got first pickings before he went to the used music store. I got a bunch of my Zappa and Tull albums from him too.
