Traditional knives and records

Donovan's groovy knife is a Frost Cutlery (Pakistan) 'Hoof & Hay' with psychedelic Frostwood covers. Make hay while the sun shines, Superman.

Holy cow! There’s a knives and vinyl thread!

When I was a lad, I suspected this might be a joke The Beatles were playing on the record-buying public.

A couple more sterling silver handled knives. The one on the left is more nouveau and more in keeping with the jacket art, but the more deco one isn't too far off base, I trust.

Then her face, at first just ghostly, turned a whiter shade of pale.

I've always thought this woman was a good singer, but it's possible other factors have clouded my judgment.

These are all bands that I thought I had never heard but of coarse I had. Thank you for reintroducing me to the tunes and now I know who they are.
Gary, while searching Bad Finger I came across their really sad story. :(

MC5! True rock n roll! Nice covers on that 25.

I can't believe that he isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame... If for no reason other than him being the person to come up with (and use) the power chord. I can't think of anyone that hasn't used it (within the confines of rock and roll, and genres branching out from it) since then...

OK, I had no idea that Dick Dale invented the power cord and I had never heard this awesome album, Thank you both for that!
GE Jr GE Jr what is that awesome knife?

The band got brass, the knife doesn't (not even the liners:(;)).
EDC blade: yes. This record: not every day, but great free stuff when you're in the mood.

I still need to check this one out.
That 38 is a pure classic!

Thanks - it's an Old Forge OF032 (div of Rough Rider?), 4-1/2" closed, Ram's horn, filework on back spring. I should probably take a proper pic of it someday. Edit: I never knew about the power chord thing, either.

GE Jr, What kind of knife is that?
Frost Cutlery 'Hoof & Hay'...a Secret Santa gift this past Christmas.

I should've put this info in originally. Posts edited. :p:D

I am still trying to figure out what album that is....

It's an old Monty Python album.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Python's_Flying_Circus_(album)

The foot, if you're unfamiliar with the show, was how they ended the credits, and is one of their more recognizable "logos".

Spoofed by The Simpsons as one of their "couch gags".

And later Family Guy.

The foot itself is snipped from the painting "Venus, Cupid, Folly and Time" by Angolo Bronzino.

I really like the blade combo on that S&M.

It's a light-duty knife. 3.5" closed, and the blades are exceptionally thin.

A favorite of mine. Glad to see it in someone else's library.

Thanks, Aaron. I knew that foot looked familiar! Obviously it has been too long since I have watched Monty Python! I will fix that posthaste. :D Thanks for the additional info on the S&M, That long thin clip blade looks like one heck of a slicer.
Your 4 blade Old Timer must make a great whittling knife. I always liked the 340 for whittling, that little Wharncliffe blade on yours would be a nice addition.

I'm sure it would. The only thing I can whittle is toothpicks out of chopsticks. The short hawk/cliffe blade makes short work of clamshells and box tape though.

Thanks, flatblackcapo for starting this thread. Great to see those of us who still play LPs. I have been playing this LP quite a lot lately along with their Together Forever LP. I have many more LPs than traditional knives.:D Preston
