Traditional Knives & Slingshots

You had a go with it Jer?
Just with the whiffleball so far.
I'll need to take it out to the farm to throw my first serious projectiles.
I always thought that you whirl a sling as fast as you can and let go at the right instant. No, you're just throwing with a longer arm (thank you, you-tube).
The 36" laces are a lot shorter with the knots, but I think it will be easier to get the knack with shorter laces first.

Good luck mate :)

The distance comes quick, accuracy is a different matter

I managed to get out to the woods near my house for a few minutes this morning, despite having a full day’s worth of chores and errands lined up. I found a few fallen branches with suitable forks, and put the saw on this Mikov to work:

Here are the assembled raw materials:

I had to make a trip to the hardware store today, but it didn’t occur to me until later that I should have gotten some pea gravel for ammo while I was there…

Great knife, great forks. Note to self to bring a pocket saw to church tomorrow for a certain downed branch of oak.
Good ammo idea.
I just ordered some gumdrops for my slingshot that's too heavy for the dainty clay balls of which I have an eternity's supply.

Happy Saturday!

Nice haul :) I always carry a saw with me when I go out to the woods, but I've been surprised at the relatively low number of good forks I actually see. I probably need to look harder! :D Good-looking Mikov

I haven't used this one for a while, and might have a session with it today. I used to use it a lot indoors, and got great accuracy, but I use it really differently to my other slingshots :D
