Traditional Knives & Slingshots

!!! that Ka-bar makes one, !!! that they make it in the USA, and !!! that I copied the image so it worked.

There was one strip in Nancy and Sluggo. Sluggo spotted a perfect forked branch. He started cutting it off with his knife, having already attached the rubber bands and leather tab. Then a patrolman spotted him and shouted "Hey you, what's that?" and Sluggo answered "A bird swing."

Thanks! :)
It took a little work to get the tines to be roughly the same size and angle from the top of the handle. It’s kind of funny to put so much thought and effort into taking something completely natural and making it look “natural”.

Next decisions to be made are band-mounting options, and to sand or not to sand.
Yes, when you look at the raw fork, it's clear you had a fair bit of work to do. I think you did a good job

Usually, with natural forks, I've cut a notch, and then attached flat bands with thin strips of rubber, but (mainly when giving slingshots to my mates' kids) I've also used a tape that I got from a Chinese slingshot company

See how it feels?
Hmm. I’m pretty sure getting sanded would hurt like heck, so maybe not.

 I’m thinking about a notch, and baling twine.
