It looks like Rufus Hussey just ties his flat bands around shallow divots front and back of the prongs.

I didn’t have any rubber bands in the house, so made a temporary attachment with paracord. It was too dark to shoot any rocks safely, but I fired a couple of coffee beans off into the night, and everything seemed to work fine.
(The side with the knots is really ugly - not showing that…)

Haha, thanks, but for me to be smarter than you, you would have to have the IQ of a medium-sized rock, which I doubt is the case.
Actually, ugliness isn’t always a bad thing. You’d be surprised how many people say I have a good personality…

I may do a little more contouring on the handle, and maybe sand it, but basically I am pleased with it as a first effort.

I'm blessed in that I can laugh at myself.
That oak branchlet at Church didn't have any symmetrical forks except the biggest one.
If it's still there Sunday I'll take it and mount it on a wagon like a swivel-gun on a whaleboat.
