Traditional of the month: Peanut.

Thank you, Keith:) It is the smooth chestnut bone. I really wanted the jigged chestnut peanut in CV like you have but the smooth really caught my eye and I just had to have it. I'm normally a carbon steel kinda guy but it's nice to diversify every once and again. Let's see some pics of yours:thumbup:

Thanks William! I've eyeballed the Smooth Chestnut Bone before, but only on the dealer sites with the correspondingly vague "pictures" - great to see it in a real photo!

Here's my 'nut when it was new about a year and a half ago. The bone has worn down on it some, so the jigging doesn't look nearly as deep now. Heck, in a few more years I'll have a Smooth Chestnut Bone 'nut! ;)

this is a great idea, but as much as I'd like to tote my peanut I've already dedicated this month to my Case Cheetah

I can see why it caught your eye, as it sure as heck caught mine! It's flat out gorgeous, rich looking with a nice depth to it. Very classy knife!

Carl.

Thank you, Carl!

She's a looker! i might have to pick one of those up in the future to go along with my smooth one. The jigging is gorgeous:)

GEC 72 for June or I guess any locking hunter would work. :)

Alrighty. That's two votes for a trapper (Any style I guess) And one vote for a locking hunter so far. Keep the suggestions coming people!

You can always contribute next month. Is there a specific pattern you would like?. Enjoy your Cheetah too!

Thanks everyone for all the compliments and for contributing:thumbup:

I'll go along with you. Heck, I only carry my peanut anyway. I'm actually sitting here holding my little Peanut feeding her a bottle. I told here what we're doing and she smiled, so I think she approves.

I'll take pictures later.

I'll go with a trapper next month, I have a nice selection, from a Case tiny wharncliffe to a full size Canal Street with Kudu horn scales :D

I'll play this is my first post, these two ride in my coin pocket everyday, it was my Christmas present from my daughter who was born on 11/30/11, she has very good taste.

I've been carrying a Chestnut CV Peanut around every day for a few months anyway, so count me in.

For next time maybe a Stockman? They seem to be the daily carry for surprisingly (to me) few people here. They were the only knives I carried for years when I was in my late teens.

I vote for a stockman next month too. I have a 78 or 79 case black derlin small stockman and an off shore made Buck stockman.

Of course, neither will push the peanut out for EDC, but I could carry two.

Votes so far.

3 for the trapper.
2 for the stockman
1 for a locking hunter.

I haven't cut much with the peanut today except for the cardboard sleeve on a cup of noodles, the lunch of champions:D

Some great posts so far:thumbup:

Throw my vote towards a Texas toothpick or sowbelly, I have a couple that need to get out of the house a little more.

I'm a recent convert to the cult of the 'nut....more than capable for my every day tasks and almost disappears into my pocket

I haven't got a peanut so I'm out for this one. Maybe next month. I like this idea though, it might help me get out of my knife carrying comfort zone.

Stich, that's a very good patina you're building up on that nut. And it's good to know there's another pipe smoker on board as well. I'm not sure why, but peanuts and pipes seem to go well together. Maybe it's just the quiet time on some water waiting to catch dinner.

Carl.

I think I can handle carrying the little yellow peanut around for a month, usually do anyway. I may even have to take it out fishing since it seems to like that.
