Traditional of the month: Peanut.

Thanks Carl, I have to admit you are the main influence for my Peanut, I have been lurking around the traditional forum reading post and your stories for awhile. Then for Christmas my wife surprised me with the Peanut, a gift from my baby girl who was born on 11/30/11 (our first child ). This knife has been in my pocket since 12/24/11 and I plan on carrying it for the rest of my existence. I always carry two knives but the peanut takes care of 98% of the cutting duties.

Congratz on the baby girl:thumbup: She was born on my birthday, too!

Yes, let me join in on the congratulations of the new child in your family. The first 6 months will pass soon enough, and if I may pass on a helpful hint; canned Coke does a better job keeping you awake during the day when groggy from 2AM feeding than coffee. At least for me it did.
Carl.

I'll play, been carrying just the peanut since March this year.

Thanks Carl and Seelow, Carl you are not kidding she will be six months in 23days I feel like it was a blink of an eye. Truth be told she is extremely pleasant. I also have the privilege to be a stay at home dad, I just turned 40 and my wife is 8.5 years younger:-). I've been working since 15 and have traveled all over the place and done and seen lots of amazing things, but being able to raise my daughter is by far the greatest, it's humbling.
Well seeing this is a Peanut thread, after a day if fishing and a good cleaning here is my Peanut slaying a mango

^That mango looks delicious! Seems like a lot of people have the jigged chestnut peanut so far. You guys have got some great taste!

Still haven't cut much with mine except whittling a few sticks. Here she is next to a 1990 moose.

I love the moose. Such a solid pattern.

Seelow I like the way you roll......

I like to carry the moose and peanut combo, they compliment eachother well. They are also my two best as far as fit & finish walk & talk , blades on both perfectly centered.

Dude that moose is drop-dead gorgeous! I love it! Do you keep the sheath around your neck?

I decided I'd try to carve a ball in a cage for the first time. I plan to give it to my mom for mothers day because she rocks! I haven't gotten super far but I think I'm making good progress.

Everything was done with the peanut. even chopping the piece of wood. It performed just fine.

No, not around neck tethered to belt and suspended in pocket, it kept sliding sideways, very comfy carry now.
Photo shows outside of pocket so you get the idea.

That's a very good idea:thumbup: I'm going to have to get one of those sheaths and try that out with my bigger blades. Thanks for the idea bro:)

No problem I like the long pull and swedge on that moose what's the second blade a spear or long Spey ?

That's a long spey. I got the Moose from a friend who had left it out in the rain for a couple days. It was full of rust. You can tell which side he left facing up from the water damage on the scale. Other than that, it's perfect. The clip blade has a nasty snap when it shuts. you definitely would not want your fingers in the way when it's heading home.

Nice peanuts, Brad! I've had my eye on the AG's pinched peanuts.

^Wow! very impressive. how long did it take? Wasn't it hard to cut through that peach pit?

They are pretty hard material to work with, you have to take your time, also the seed inside the shell contains a small dose of cyanide so make sure you wash your knife and hands good if you get into the center of the pit.
