Traditional treasure hunt picture game

Gary, I didn’t take the picture but it is a black and white of the real Rosie’s Diner near Rockford, Michigan. Is that near you?

Thanks, Ken; that's exactly the diner I was thinking of. No wonder it looked familiar! :):cool:
FWIW, I don't think it's open as a diner for most of the year anymore, but a car dealership owns it and sometimes uses it for periodic big sales.

The Wikipedia entry indicates that the diner is semi-famous! ;)

How about this? The knife is from the 2018 run.

Well done, Ken.

Real, early Buick, belongs to my neighbor!!

Recent TC Barlow!!

Beautiful car, Charlie! That knife’s not too shabby, either. ;)

Very cool! Bonus points for having a knife and actual car together in one photo. (Not sure bonus points are worth anything here, but still…)

32 pages and Barrett stumped the knife world LoL :D

I’d forgotten about that thread. Who knew that a little Buck 527 Treasury would kill it. :D

Well I was hoping someone with a REAL English bulldog would pull through but we'll have to settle for my 1st Gen Bulldog and this dog food advertisement :D:thumbsup:

How about a vintage Fish Knife (preferably w/ scaler) with some REAL fish taxidermy? I will accept the singing Billy Bass wall mount :)

Everyone has been good about what they'll accept or not. And there have been some clever solutions, even if some came in a bit late. The sink trap one is a favorite of mine;). May I suggest that the current clue giver state before hand if a knife/picture combo is acceptable. We've already been deferring to the last clue giver whether or not they accept the solution. Some things would be impossible unless a picture or a figurine stand in, for example "Elvis with a stockman knife" don't think we should suggest somebody dig up ol Elvis for a photo op:eek: However if that was a suggestion of mine, and you find a pic of Elvis using a stockman I'd be cool with it:cool:

I will chime in and say that I would prefer the pics to have a knife with an actual object. Asking for a pic of a knife with elvis obviously has to be with memorabilia. Asking for a pic of a knife with a car should be with the actual car. The treasure hunt part is kind of what I'll differ to hear. We need to have a few skunks, we have a few awesome gifts that need new homes :D

I also think the knife and the object (or whatever) should be in the SAME photo :D
I agree, one picture with the prop and the knife.
The prop doesn't have to be exactly what was asked for either, I like the way we can use our imagination and creativity. When I asked for a "Stag Party", I would have accepted a bunch of stag items, a bar scene, a couple of stuffed animal reindeer, etc. I just think doing a Google search, printing out a picture of the item, and then taking a photo of the knife on top of the picture is too easy and not in the spirit of the game.

Had a really nice whole smoked fish in the fridge, but somehow it got dismembered and devoured a short while ago :D But, I've no vintage fish-knife of any manner:rolleyes:

Come on let's see some fish gleaming away with appropriate knives:cool:

In the meantime to keeps things moving I found a pic in my archive of Two Baltic Whitefish, my Japanese prep knife and the Ebony 92 Talon helping out in the prep. The knives were not baked though, not quite that forgetful-yet:D:eek:

I did search through my wife's stack of animal magazines for a half hour to find that advertisement with the bulldog on the back cover LoL ;) If this gets too tough and donated prizes run out, rockgolfer will be stuck giving away his own items or asking for more donations and the fun may end. I still think it should be up to the person who is making the request to specify REAL or ANY representation of the object. I'm ok NOT winning and would prefer to win by accident :)

Agreed that the knife and object should be in the same photo.
I think it is more fun when some of the easier, less obscure requests come up. It allows more people to play along and post. Keeps the game moving. It's fun to have multiple people trying at the same time. I think we could all come up with a real stumper if we really tried...but what fun is it to see the thread not active at all? I am glad to see everyone be so generous in accepting submissions. It's just a game.:) I think the "prizes" should be a Gold Star or a pat on the back as the prize is not what the game is about. imo
