Unless I was totally wrong with the translation of clogs, I would like to see some home brew with a multi bladed knife (tools like a bottle opener count as a blade too) . And I quote btb01 btb01 : "Real thing only, no photographic representations, both items in one photo. :D"
Good job of upholding the honor of your country and supporting a Dutch-French alliance, Mark!:cool::D

I'm surprised as well! Since I am donating the Diamond Edge barlow and haven't sent it to @rockgolfer yet, I decided to "gift" my winnings to the random number generator and send the barlow to the lucky winner... guess what? Congrats to GT 5K Qs 5K Qs for post #117 :D PM me your address GT and I will put the knife in the mail on Monday

W:eek:W! Thanks very much, Kevin; this was quite a surprise this morning!:) I'm amazed that no one came up with a mounted fish, and I had no idea that there was a "random winner" component to the game!

I'll send you info in a couple of minutes; that Diamond Edge Imperial Barlow looks like just my style!!;)
(And I'm going to contact Jeff about restocking the prize pool.)

Our first winner, awesome :). Sorry I am out of town this weekend so I haven't been able to constantly follow along but I like how this went down. Congrats to the first winner and game on :D

Since we were still nailing down some rules, I threw in the "random generator" twist cuz it felt right ;)

NOW WHERE ARE THE HOME-BREWS!?

A dusty collection of some of my brother's earliest home brews posing with my Case Beer Trapper.

I'd like to see an Osage Orange handled knife with an Osage tree. Real knife, real tree, same photo please.

Nice one Shawn, seems like your brother has produced quite the number of batches. How did the early ones taste?

He has done a ton of different batches. He has a real knack for Oatmeal Stouts and wheat beers. Always very good; even very early on in his time brewing. He also got really good at Saisons and Farmhouse Ales.

11 hours left on this one. I’d try for it, except that I don’t any knives in Osage Orange. (Also, I don’t know if there are any OO trees in Minnesota.) I thought I could cheat and find someone else’s knife-and-tree photo by searching the forums, but I came up empty handed.

I have the knife, but not the tree. According to the Wikipedia entry, the distribution is mostly in Texas. Maybe r8shell r8shell can help? I think I recall her posting an osage orange handled knife in the past...

I guess I'm a step ahead of Barrett and on a level parallel to Greg. When I saw Shawn's challenge, I thought to myself, "Hey, I know where an osage orange tree is, and if I can just get @Half/Stop to send me his OO Dixie stockman impossibly quickly, I'll be all set to earn honor and glory!"

There aren't many bois d'arc trees in town, but I think I know where one is. I doubt I'll get a chance to stop by it for a picture (family is still visiting through the weekend) When is the deadline?

7:57 PM Central Time, but please don’t feel pressured. Just tagged you in case you’d enjoy it.

Mmmm, sounds very good! You've got me longing for a good Stout now :) I've brewed my own beer for a while but in retrospect my first few weren't very good :p switching to controlled fermentation (temperature wise) made a big difference. I think my best and favorite was an IPA, unfortunately I haven't found the time to brew for a while, maybe it will be different in a couple of years.

Temperature control is absolutely a huge factor, and something he paid great attention to. He's been far too busy these past couple of years to brew, as well. It's a shame, too, because he loves brewing.

NICE target and a tough one  Tough as the bois d'arc itself :D I have the knife but those trees don't grow up here in lat 63°North could try faking it with a Birch ;) Think I'll have to cry 'racism' and moan that this deliberately excludes non Americans:D:D;) Or were I to win, ask for an obscure Ghost Jade g-10 knife next to some rare Scandinavian Lichen :D

Joking apart, I'm looking forward to seeing one of these Osage Orange trees in a shot with a knife, come on you idlers!:thumbsup:

I really thought it was a much more prevalent species than it is, apparently. It's become common place on knives, I keep hearing about Osage fence posts lasting forever in Texas, and I'm pretty sure vast amounts were planted throughout the Plains in the 1930s. Apologies for the, seemingly, impossible request. I was originally going to ask for a Glitter Gold handled knife with a Glitter Gold motorcycle helmet, but I knew that would be impossible. :D

I’m not sure that the request is impossible as much as it is a matter of timing. I know where there are some OO trees nearby me in New York, but with traveling for the holiday and family obligations, it just wasn’t going to happen within 24 hours.
