Per "Creative Review" UK's website:

"By 1917 the more arcane aspects of floriography may have receded but the use of flowers to send messages was thriving thanks to a more recent innovation – the telegraph. In 1910, 15 American retail florists agreed to exchange orders via this new device so that customers could order bouquets in one town to be delivered to an address in another. This Florists’ Telegraph Delivery association adopted Patrick O’Keefe’s ‘Say it With Flowers’ slogan for an ad campaign for Mother’s Day in 1918. As the FTD went global (the UK equivalent, Interflora, formed in the 20s) the slogan went international too. It was never copyrighted but was in use for over 50 years in advertising, on shopfronts and even, from 1936–39, on the logo of the FTD itself."

Interesting history, Kevin; thanks! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Even the Rolling Stones used the slogan, with a minor twist:
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the U.S. Mail
Say it with dead flowers in my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave

Jack, I hope your results are whatever would be best for your long term health. You take care of yourself.

Thanks a lot my friend, they are trying to get to the bottom of why I have had a heavy and persistent cough for the past 15 months, so it was just a load of breathing tests. Not unpleasant in themselves, but I can't say I enjoyed blacking out three times o_O :thumbsup:

Last time I had persistent bad coughing like that it was pneumonia :(:thumbsdown:

Aye and no whiskey involved in the blacking out? Jack Black Jack Black Get well my friend. Around here they'd test ya for Valley Fever but since your a long ways from the San Joaquin Valley I'm guessing no.

Not enough oxygen getting to the noggin! :rolleyes: Thanks a lot pal, hopefully it's nothing too serious, but I'd like to get rid of it, not enjoying being a Coffin Jack ;) :D :thumbsup:

TO RECAP... WE NEED SOMEONE TO FULFILL THIS REQUEST:

my request would be for a knife relating to the weaving or cotton industry (eg Tackler, Loomfixer, Cotton Sampler), and an object relating to that industry - not an item of clothing, but maybe a cotton bobbin, loom, shuttle, etc. Real objects, same picture :thumbsup:
