Uh-oh...not good. What has been the exchange between you folks? Is he denying its his fault? not answering e-mails/PMs? Is it possible he mailed you the wrong knife and mailed yours to someone else? Somebody accidently did that to me once.

Enquiring minds want to know. Maybe he will chime in here. And BTW, regardless of "how" or "why", I'm sorry you're having to go through this situation.

Have you contacted the seller with the issue, and given him an opportunity to correct the problem?

OK, I'm confused... TRUTHSEEKER
th_confusedsmiley.gif

Uh, ok, this is the first I've heard about this, and I heard it from Keith. I can assure you the knife was not a user and any scratches were not noticed by me. If you're unhappy with it, that's ok, but I really would have appreciated a note, email, PM, or SOMETHING before you brought it here.

If possible, post some pics showing the scratches so I can see what you're talking about. If you're not happy with it, I'll gladly refund your money (SEE EDIT), no questions asked.

Again, I really wish you hadn't brought this into a thread titled "truthseeker-not so good" before contacting me.

EDIT: I'm afraid I'm going to have to see some pics of scratches that make it look like a "user" before I do anything.

As far as I'm concerned this matter should have been taken to Paul (truthseeker) before it was brought here. There may not have been any need for this thread at all.

This should have been taken care of in private, last resort is taken something like this to public forum.

Thanks guys. Like I said, I did not notice any scratches prior to shipping the knife and a picture will help settle things.

As this is the first time I've had problems with a sale, I'd appreciate any advice any of you may have as to how to handle things from this point, i.e. what's fair, etc.

Keith, thanks again for the heads-up on this!

Is wired45 pulling a Franklin? He started this thread with vague assertions about an allegedly bad knife deal. Since then he's apparently ignored requests for details and now we find out he didn't first seek resolution with the seller.

WTF, over?

Just so everybody can see what was going on here, this is all the communication between the two of us. If there's a problem with posting this in the open forum, just say the word and it's gone. Just trying to defend myself a little here.

Here is the thread I responded to.
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=443406

Here is what I sent him. In his original post in the WTB thread he stated he would pay $300 for one.

Yep, it's the one pictured in my OJ warden sale thread. I just snagged another one from a buddy yesterday and I remembered you were looking for one. Just figured I'd give you first crack at it, since you asked!

If you want it, I'll do $300 shipped and insured paid by USPS MO, or $312 shipped and insured paid by paypal. I like using paypal, but they ding me 4.9% for everything I sell, so I gotta recover the fees somewhere.

Just let me know what's up. You can PM me here or email me at <email removed>. I get email on my phone throughout the day, so that's quicker if you don't see me online here.
Thanks!

Paul

truthseeker said:
PayPal address is <removed>. Just make sure your correct shipping address is on there for me. It looks like the PO will be shut down until Wednesday for the holiday, so I'll send it out that morning. You should have it by Friday or Saturday!

Thanks!

Paul

A word about the "bonus gift"; right before I shipped the knife, I noticed that he had sent me $315 instead of $312, so I threw a Busse lanyard in the box to make up the difference.
truthseeker said:
Great, man!! Glad it got there ok. Did you get the "bonus gift"?

yes-very cool-thanks:thumbup: :D

That's the last I heard of the transaction from him, until this.

FWIW, I just found out that the knife in question in this transaction was one that I had previously sold to Paul (Truthseeker). I will say this: it was new, usused, and as mint as mint goes when I sold it to Paul. Incidentally, I also had no issues with Paul or our transaction either.

So, take that with whatever weight you want to assign it. Basically, without any further details from wired45 here in this thread on which everyone here can form an opinion, I am just saying that I had no issues with Truthseeker at all and the knife was new and unused when he got it from me.

Thanks for posting the email exchange. Sounds to me like he has accepted the sale and then again on the second reply after it arrived. Sounds to me like he passed on his chances to whine and had HAPPILY accepted the goods. If it were me or any other reasonable person the deal would be sealed with the last two emails. This public and blind attack on Truthseeker's rep is out of line big time IMO :( Wired45 brought this public and needs to address it publicly ASAP.

I think that this should have been handled privately. I too was once trashed by a guy publicly when selling him a knife. Sometimes people are not happy with what they get..no big deal. I refund..but this guy calls me a crook in GB&U without even sending me an email...

My opinion wired45 should apologize

then undo the deal so all parties are satisfied..

the ball is in your court ...

I'm going to say that any scratches on the blade were not present when it left my posession. Take that however you want, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to stand firm.

When pictures are presented showing the scratches, maybe it can be determined what caused them. Until then, as far as I'm concerned, the deal stands. Again, I'm open to suggestions.

If the scratches were there when the knife arrived, even if done during shipping, it should not be the buyer that gets stuck with the problem. The buyer should get a refund and the seller then has to after the shipping company if the shipment was insured. If not, the seller ends up getting stuck with the problem.

It would be very educational to see photos of the damage, and if I were in Paul's situation, I would also require photos before deciding what needs to be done.
