tundratrader-where are my knives?

Waiting for what exactly? I can’t believe the amount of posts in this thread. Do I think TT shipped the knife? Sure, I do. Did a customs agent pocket it? More than likely. This is the exact reason I don’t ship international unless I know you. Everything I ship, I snap a picture of the box and label after it’s been stamped at the PO with my phone. Sometimes you loose stuff and that was my backup to losing a receipt or tracking information. Honestly it’s the international community who will lose out on being able to buy knives based on threads like these. It scares people away from shipping outside the US even if done correctly.

TT is right about one thing. He did not come up with the shipping method on his own. I have been asked to ship things several times in a dishonest way. The difference is I said no. Even after saying no sometimes they begged and pleaded to do so. The answer was still no. If it were me I would take the hit and refund the guys money but not because there’s an internet forum lynch mob out to get me, but because it’s the right thing to do. At this point TT has been hung out to dry in an epic thread. By chastising him publicly here still now after almost 400 posts your not helping to get the other guys money back. If anything your pushing TT to just say FK it and walk. By him coming back here to post and defend himself he must care just a little at least. He’s come half way with it and told him he would refund half of it. To me that counts for something. He just needs to come full circle with it and be done.

I can imagine on a FF salary it could be extremely difficult to come up with the funds, but it is what it is.

So it comes down to if one he wants to do the right thing and two if he cares to still be part of the community after being stomped on by the mob. Let’s hope he does.

The GB&U is for giving props, or calling out deadbeats....based on sales/trade transactions. There wouldn't be 400 posts, if TT had done what is morally & ethically correct. The "LYNCH MOB" wants a refund provided from TT, to date has not done so.

His sale, his rules...he CHOSE to lie on the customs form, then not provide/keep a receipt.

He offered 1/2 refund, but has no money to pay it to the OP....SO HE DIDN'T "COME HALF WAY"

TT has/had $700, the OP has no knife.

TT is only responding to this thread, so he can continue to sell knives on this site.

His FF salary is not a valid point, he had the $700 from the OP.

Has anyone ever considered that the OP "could be" scamming TT and has had the knife all of this time? Knowing that it's untraceable and all, it's as easy for him to scam (easier to cry wolf) than for TundraTrader.

I don't know if this has been addressed or not in this thread. I'm too busy to look at the OPs feedback, posts, etc. but I was just wondering.

Absolutely 100% true, the OP could be scamming TT. But since TT can't prove shipping the item, and the OP has been in contact with TT from the beginning...it doesn't "appear" that it showed up.

The burden of proof, is on TT.

I think selling anything at this point is moot. That ship has pretty much sailed for him.

The FF point was a light graze at being empathetic to his situation. I don’t condone spending the funds before the buyer has the knife. I just understand what he’s jiving at.

My point is simple, a bit of courtesy can go along way to resolving all kinds of maters. Treating TT as an outright thief and then expecting him to behave in the exact opposite manor isn’t likely going to get the desired results.

Anyways off to do other things, good luck to both parties I hope it works out.

And I agree with you Sir...but :) the fact still stands that TT hasn't replied to this thread/or the OP, for a week (again). But was on line 4/21...it seems TT is hoping this will "just go away".

Bwana1 at this point I have to ask why you are so intensely focused on this. When was the last time we heard from the OP? At some point this is between he and TT. The story is out there and whether you or anyone else chooses to buy from TT or not is up to you.

This thread is pretty useless at this point. The OP needs to continue dialogue with the moderators or seek satisfaction from the authorities if he really wants to move forward.

Agreed, and as this thread progressed my opinions have vascillated one way and another. It shows me I shouldn't rush to judgement in either party's favor nor is it my duty to. It's up to the two involved and possibly moderators and LEOs.

The first party to engage in theft was the OP and TT, possibly needing the cash took him up on his scheme to float this through customs. Once a knife leaves for Europe and other parts unknown, there's "almost always" a disclaimer in the thread that says the seller assumes no liability for international shipping.

We'll never know the truth probably but I think the OP is at least as much to blame, if not more, than TundraTrader. I think he needs to back off and rethink his position. Maybe he should report this incident to "his" customs department and demand his camping tool be searched for. Just sayin...

I hardly find posting on a thread once a week, "intensely focused" The last time I posted, was when TT said "Read up and respond if it a constructive criticism"....and I responded with such.

If this was my money ($700), you can bet I'd be "intensely focused" :) But I'm mainly a buyer/seller here at BF....and never a hint of any problems. Nor any issues on 4 other sites, my Feedback is impeccable...cuz I've earned it.

I rarely spend time debating, discussing, or joining in the site rhetoric...but when no progress is made in the transaction, it only benefits TT  Banning him from BF, won't replace the money lost....keeping quiet, and hoping for resoloution...is misplaced trust, TT isn't going to step up and do the right thing

If you choose to stand idly by, and watch community members get ripped off...that's your prerogative, I choose a more direct path to justice

Wow I've been watching this thread progress over the weeks and honestly it's not going anywhere. The OP hasn't posted anything in BF since 3/14. We all know there are (3) things that COULD have happend; he never shipped the knife, it's lost in transit, or the OP has it and is trying to scam him. THATS IT! Can you understand why TT is timid to give a full refund of almost $700? They both made mistakes, and the half way payment is absolutely acceptable. We don't know TT's situation, but he sold the Hinderer to pay bills, even if he got it direct at half the price, you gotta do what you gotta do. So stop bashing him for that. Even if he does post only "once a week", isn't this thread a bit tiring? What else can he say? He has a life too and 90% of the people posting on this thread are bashing him, calling him a crook, theif, and he's losing potential traders and buyers because of this.

One point I haven't seen discussed is why the OP never took advantage of filing a complaint through Paypal. Don't you have up to six months to do so? Hell, I've filed a complaint after a week of no delivery or communication through eBay.

The conclusion is TT and the OP know they're sides, and to whoever is lying, it's a shame. Money isn't everything, and somewhere there is a beautiful knife in question. They both made mistakes, and I truly hope it's just lost in the mail, and that it turns up at the OP's address.

The OP addressed this. He said that PP policies are different in Russia and they cannot make a claim the same way an American user can. I don't know if this is accurate or if there is some form of language barrier but that was his statement regarding the PP claim (or lack thereof).

Yes, you can file a claim on PayPal in Russia... in all of Europe, in fact.

I hope to god that I never have any problems selling on this site. I take pride in my feedback, but it seems that some of the BF members think it's their job to police a thread like this. This has gone on long enough. Leave it to the Mods, the buyer, and the seller. Don't be such a Nosey Nancy.

+1 TT has been a member here a long time and dealt with big money blades for years too. Now he's a theif? Please. A knife doesn't make it to Russia...shocking news.

If OP hasn't been here for over a month, he seems to be done with this.

Thanks to the clowns this thread is being locked. If the OP wants it open again to add any additional info, all he has to do is ask.
