Hope everyone's furry friends feel better soon.

Some people care more about whats written on paper than how it actually performs. And if whats written on paper is coupled with a high price tag it MUST mean it performs better, despite silly things like geometry...

Weird, ain't it? On the other hand, look at all the "cheap" adult beverages that have won major contests against both the big names and the super-boutique brands - that always gets people riled up :D Heck, there was a bushcraft knife challenge not too long ago where the two fanciest, most expensive knives just blew up under normal use. That caused a bit of a stir, too.

Marketing "trade secrets", "exclusive materials" and how "overbuilt and tactical" a knife is can be a real successful business model though, no question about that. More companies than one have figured that out. More power to 'em. *shrug*

Don't tell anyone... I have a reputation to uphold :p

We can work on that at the gathering. We've got your back.

Happened to be in the right place/right time and was actually able to purchase .22lr today at Flander Fountain. Scored a brick of Federal premium target. First time in almost a year I've seen it in a store. The Elmer Fudds and cane leaners are usually three deep to scarf it up and re-sell it.

Well, my machax just bit me, was messing around chopping with it, after just sharpening it, and took to shallow a swing and it glanced off the wood into my finger. Of course I wasn't wearing gloves  but at least it was just a glancing blow, not to deep

I'll tell you the same thing i told someone else yesterday... She is going to keep on biting you if you dont show her who is boss. You have to be the alpha.

Anytime one of mine bites me i beat the hell out of it for it a couple hours and teach it some manners. Some people roll their eyes, some call it knife abuse, some even try and get "Knife Services" involved... But around here we call it good 'Ol fashioned discipline and a good beating just comes with the territory!!

.... If i was talking about children id have 2 SWAT teams, a tank, and 4 past presidents here to arrest me... and id prolly try and give them all a spanking too :D

Decent price?

I was at a flea market in MO last weekend and they were trying to sell bricks of Winchester white box for $65. No thanks. I don't need it that bad.

I want to buy a .22, something like a Ruger 10-22. I can never find a reliable source of ammo.

I would like to get one for plinking and shooting critters getting into our rabbit and soon to be chicken pens.

Nice score trade.

Purely regarding ammo, you might be better off with a good air rifle.

That is funny you say that. I have been checking out some videos of air rifles. This one seems really awesome.

re: air rifles
I can't see the video, but I will tell you this: buy German. End. Of. Story.

this guy is smaht.

JT also speaks with wisdom about shootin' stuff.

I've got an older Benjamin Trail NP air rifle in .22 caliber that is accurate and a ton of fun. And you can buy tins of pellets by the 1000's pretty much all day. According to my account rep at one of the major firearm distributors who shall remain nameless, it can put a lead pellet through a cedar privacy fence pretty easily. Fortunately the neighbors didn't notice and no harm was done... At close range, it can do anything the .22LR can do, but much quieter unless the .22LR is suppressed. The trigger on mine was terrible, but I was able to get an after-market one that is nice. I understand that newer ones are available with the "non-lawyer" trigger. They also have a .25 caliber air rifle that you can find videos of folks using them to successfully hunt wild pigs (earhole shot).

Don't get too excited about my opinions on that matter; most of you cats have more shooting experience in a week than I do in my life. :o As Al Swearengen said, "I work better close in." ;)

I do know which end the ouchy part comes out of though, and I will say that another guy who shall remain nameless was similarly surprised at how many layers of cardboard and particle board a .177 pellet at about 1100 fps will penetrate

Mora's outperform a LOT of high end knives. Every gear list we put together for a trip anywhere ends with "and a Mora".
The LightMyFire Mora is double awesome. Lit the fire with it tonight. uploadfromtaptalk1429488907259.jpg

I'm bringing my Benji Trail NP in a couple weeks. Should have the Charlie Da Tuna trigger installed by then. See what you think. ...I think it's fun as hell even with the crappy stock trigger.
yar. interesting day :D
Fun day. Thanks for coming up to Concord. And thanks to Jim Bensinger for his hospitality at the show.

Jim is good folks - I got to meet him and his Daughter at Blade last year, and had some good talks.

Anyone else watching the ACM's? I'm really excited for Garth and Brooks & Dunn

I am watching it. I like Brooks and Dunn quite a bit. Got no use for Barf Brooks. I do like many of his songs, but he is a sh*t. Ungrateful, whiny, wife-cheating, greedy a-hole. You can have him. You're too young to remember his antics during the days of used CD sales. What a puke.

Firearms are one of the areas where I avoid treading on the net. Use what you're comfortable with, then give 'em Hell.
