Two For Tuesday

Here's two ferro rod strikers I've been working on today to go with the green patch knife.

I need to get an updated pic of the Shadetree Bushfinger. After cutting up some oranges and a bunch of ribeyes, it's starting to get a cool looking patina.

Nice job on those ferrorods Swonut, did you dye the wood yourself too?

Nope, I'm not quite up to that challenge just yet. Andy has given me permission to post up some for sale, but I'm still working on upping my game and working out a few issues. I've just begun working with exotic woods and I'm starting to understand the "pop," but am far from inducing and controlling it.

Here's two more for Tuesday (a Bocote and African blackwood-- The knives are bone) :

My pair for today is a Fiddleback Patch and a Jarrett Fleming “Bird & Trout.”

The Patch is 1/8” SFT O-1 and it remains a favorite of mine. It is my most used smaller Fiddleback.

The Bird & Trout has a similar length handle to the Patch, but with more pronounced contours. The B&T is hollow ground CPM 154 with a tapered tang. The blade is about ½” longer than the Patch. The handle material is Shadetree “Tequila Sunrise” burlap. I got my order in last December just before Jarrett closed his books until after the Blade Show.

As usual, Jessie a.k.a. “J-Dog” supervised the photo shoot and posed to get in on the action.

Looks good Phil! I have a b&t from Jarrett in drunken burlap cpm 154 and I really like it. I can't wait to take it trout fishing this summer!!!

Phil:

The contours on the B&T are amazing. Nice choice on the handle material !

Nice 2-fer Phil. The evergreen over yellow is one of my favorites.

My new patch matches the config on my Camp Nessie, although there is a slight coloration difference in the oreo. So here's my 2-fer

According to VANCE .. 'what's better than a Fiddleback Machete? Answer: TWO Fiddleback Machetes!'

Got these two beauties today:

They are perfect in every way. Thanks again to Andy for making them for me:thumbup:

PS! Sorry about the bad pic, pissing down outside and starting to get dark... Better pics in the user thread after they have spent a while on the farm and in the mountains:D
Wow, nice looking pair. Have been looking for two matching knives in different sizes for a hunting piggy-back solution. Which two models are these?

Thanks
// Daniel

The larger is known as the Camp Knife and the smaller one is called the Ladyfinger, the one pictured being a rare, guardless model.

Trestle is correct. They weren't a normal sale from Andy, but part of a trade with him so I had the rare opportunity to custom order just what I wanted.

The Camp is O1 3/16" and the Ladyfinger is 1/8" S35VN and guardless. For me they are a perfect pair that complement each other well.
