Edward Keating and Dan Lee are pointing fingers at each other, yet neither steps up to take responsibility for wrongs inflicted on their customers.
I told them both I would let them work it out and hoped one of them would step up and take care of those like myself that were owed money. It hasn't happened.
Tomorrow I will start a new thread with links to communications and promises, accusations and claims by both parties.
It's not pretty, but I live here in Atlanta and Blade is coming to town. I will make sure Uberknives is a point of discussion with every manufacturer that gave them access to their product. Uberknives' business practices is an embarrassment to any manufacturer affiliated with them.
I opened a dispute with paypal last night explaining the whole situation.
Check out what I got this morning:
"Hey man sent over a pre-paid return label. Thank you very much!"
And the email was not signed, but I did get a separate email with the return label. What are the chances of me getting a refund after I send the knife back?........ Yeah, I agree. I am going to wait to hear back from Paypal.
I pasted this Bladeforums link into my dispute in which I said that I would send the knife back after my money was refunded.
Do whatever paypal says. This will most likely include you sending the knife back before you get a refund. Don't know if I would use their prepaid shipping. Again, if paypal is involved, you should be fine to do this. Just insure it and get a signature confirmation. Once the package is signed for and in this douche bags hands nothing else matters to paypal. They should refund you. Again, do what paypal says and you should be fine.
I am glad their account is banned! That said, they are still on the paying dealers list.
They'll only be able to refund the money if there are funds available in his paypal account.
Nope. Completely false. If you use paypal goods they will refund your money and then go after the seller for the funds. Please read paypal's user agreement before making such inaccurate statements: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full
Personal experience has proven me correct. I filed a dispute with Paypal and won and they told me they could not refund my money because there were no funds available in his account. Also feel free to point out in the policy exactly where it states this " If you use paypal goods they will refund your money and then go after the seller for the funds".Nope. Completely false. I'd really like to know, if this guy in the Uberknives Facebook pictures (flashing the money), is indeed that Lee character, who was posting all of the vulgar messages here on BladeForums? Wow- all of that excitement, over a few Twenty"
Did you not read any of the agreement? Sorry you messed up and somehow got screwed but paypal is very clear on this.
Let's start with the seller:
"3.3 Liability for Invalidated Payments. When you receive a payment, you are liable to PayPal for the full amount of the payment sent to you plus any Fees if the payment is later invalidated for any reason. This means that, in addition to any other liability, you will be responsible for the amount of the payment sent by the sender, plus the applicable Fees listed in Exhibit A (Fees) of this Agreement if you lose a Claim or a Chargeback, or if there is a Reversal of the payment.
You agree to allow PayPal to recover any amounts due to PayPal by debiting your balance. If there are insufficient funds in your balance to cover your liability, you must reimburse PayPal through other means. If a sender of a payment files a Chargeback, the credit card issuer, not PayPal, will determine who wins the Chargeback."
This means the seller agrees to be responsible to paypal for the funds received from the buyer, even if there is a refund or lost claim. Got that?
Now, let's go to the buyer protection:
"13.4 Coverage Amount. If you are eligible for PayPal Purchase Protection and PayPal finds in your favor on your Claim, PayPal will reimburse you for the full purchase price of the item and original shipping costs with no cap on coverage.
PayPal will not reimburse you for the return shipping costs that you incur to return a Significantly Not As Described item to the Seller or other party specified by PayPal. If the Seller presents evidence that they delivered the goods to your address, PayPal may find in favor of the Seller for an Item Not Received claim even if you did not receive the goods."
See that part in red? That right there means paypal, not the seller, will reimburse you under their buyer protection policy. What paypal wants to do with the faulty buyer after that? Who cares! You are covered. Simple really.
Now, I don't know the specifics of you situation and nor do I want to, but I suspect it is not so cut and dry.
I received a call from Hyojoo Edward Keating about an hour ago. He apologized for the problems, but reiterated the internal problems between Dan Lee and himself.
He said their site will be down for the foreseeable future and his immediate plans are to liquidate his inventory on eBay.
He refunded the money owed to me through Paypal and I have dropped my claim. I know there are others with problems to resolve and I wished him/them luck.
Anyone with issues may PM me for contact info.
Lol. I think your understanding of that is off but that's OK.
