UBERKNIVES aka UBERTACS aka Dan Lee aka Edward Keating do not trust!

Let me get this straight. Your understanding of paypal's buyer protection policy is that after a claim has been won by a buyer, the buyer will only be refunded if the seller has the money in their account to refund? And you still hold to that understanding after reading the policy? Sorry bud but that is absolutely ridiculous. That would make it super easy for every scammer to use paypal to scam people. That would make paypal utterly useless for buyers. That would make uberknives be able to rip all these people in this thread off.

I think your understanding of how paypal works is not based in reality.

^^^^
+1 Perfectly stated!

I received a call from Hyojoo Edward Keating about an hour ago. He apologized for the problems, but reiterated the internal problems between Dan Lee and himself.
He said their site will be down for the foreseeable future and his immediate plans are to liquidate his inventory on eBay.

He refunded the money owed to me through Paypal and I have dropped my claim. I know there are others with problems to resolve and I wished him/them luck.

Anyone with issues may PM me for contact info.

This is great news, George!

I'm hoping that there will be similar outcomes, for all of the other member's, who were scammed by Uberknives, Keating, & Lee. THEY'RE BOTH IN ON THIS SCAM!!!

They are doing an ebay inventory dump sale according to their facebook. Hope nobody buys anything from them.

I was looking on Ebay for winkler knives and all of a sudden there were a ton of highly customized camo belt knives and the seller posted a pic of stacks of boxes from multiple knives of the same type. Funny thing I instantly thought uberknives. The pictures were taken on a carpet, probably of one of the guy's houses.

Shady deal all the way around. I hope all of you guys get your money back. I emailed Mr. Winkler about this thread as well.

Nice quote for posterity..Had to read that a few times to make sense of it.

He is right in a certain sense though. When a member comes on here and states that paypal will only cover your claim if the seller has funds in their account, he is for sure on a "different" intellectual level.

This sort of thing is exactly how inaccurate and plain wrong information gets spread. Folks who make such wildly false statements need to be called on it and have their unreliable information corrected.

I dont understand what this has to do with Uber knives and how they handle business. This is turning into another two guys being d***s to another thread. You stated your opinion, he stated his, move on or take it offline. I for one would like to see how this Uber Knives fiasco pans out for those that truly got screwed. I'm hoping for the best.

In all honesty, I was attempting to use sarcasm in my post- perhaps if I'd used an emoticon, it wouldn't have come off so condescending.

Regardless- I stand firm in my position, that some people are so dogmatic in their thinking/logic, that they'll never have the ability to comprehend the facts & form an objective opinion.

When a person is wrong about something, they should be man enough to admit it.

Craytab, is correct, regarding this subject, & the facts that he provided are fairly crystal clear...to the people who have the intellect to disseminate the information provided, & draw a logical conclusion.

You can't fix...

Back on topic- hopefully there will be other member's with positive updates (like George).

I just stated what occurred when I filed a claim with paypal. You old guys are funny. I have no problem stating I'm wrong whenever that occurs. Either way this has absolutely nothing to do with this thread so I'll stop and go on with my day. LOL. Feel free to PM or Email with more insults if it makes you feel better. :)

They'll only be able to refund the money if there are funds available in his paypal account.

You said this right?

You are not stating what occurred when you filed a claim. You are telling us all that paypal will not cover a claim unless the seller has the funds in their account, which is completely false. Sorry if those facts seem like insults. They aren't. Just a correction of absolute misinformation.

This has to do with uberknives because some guy came in here and told all the people that have been screwed by uberknives that unless uberknives had the funds available in their paypal account, paypal would not be able refund their money, which is completely false. If it were that easy to screw people. uberknives would be king and not out of business. I hope these folks get refunded as well. I also hope none of them gave up on filling a claim because some guy came in here and spread misinformation.

I agree. If the trolling and asshattery does not stop I will send some people packing. We do not want any trolls here, the forums have enough as it stands.

Well, that is all I needed. Today was their last day of a week given to start making things right. No action, no communication, no more forums for Uberknives.

In the past I came from a dysfunctional local board where the dealers ran it like a mafia, and members were banned in off topic posts disagreeing with vendors in general banter about a certain thought, gun, knife, and so forth. It is a refreshing relief to see that is not so here.

Wow, I remember their nutty ads in the dealer section and wondered what drugs the author was on. Doesn't seem strange to me at all this is the outcome of all that weirdness.

I hope you guys with outstanding issues get taken care of. Also, if you used a major credit card and did not receive what you paid for, you are 100% not liable. Call up your CC company and file a dispute; they'll give the seller a chance to respond and if there's no response, they'll get hit with a chargeback. Make sure you have the date of the transaction in hand and the amount charged to confirm with the CC company.

It seems there are a handful of regulars in these threads that are not directly involved but always manage to derail it and rustle a lot of jimmies. Plenty of other areas to contribute to on the forum dudes.

Wow, I had no idea when I originally posted about my issue with UK that there was a lot of people in the same situation. I thought UK would see the post and then actually contact me to correct things. I really hope everyone that is having a problem with them gets it resolved one way or another. I have never been contacted since leaving a message with them back in May so I just filed a claim with my CC company.

Do let us know how the claim goes.

PayPal protection has absolutely zero to do with whether or not the seller has the funds in their account. When you pay for goods/services with PayPal, you are protected. I have run an online business as my sole source of income for over a decade, so there was never any question about whether or not I'd be covered. I intentionally paid for all my UberKnives purchases with PayPal, not a credit card, because their claims process is much faster and more convenient, and I didn't trust them because of all the bizarre "E40" posts.

I just received my refund of $624 the other day. Needless to say, Uber is probably long gone and not coming back (a good thing).

PS - I got a phone call from Edward (E40) Keating a while back, after I had filed the claim. He sounded like a punk kid, and his story smelled remarkably similar to bovine fecal matter. "He robbed everything while I was out of town man. But don't worry, I'll be back."

Yeah, OK. :jerk it:<--- First time I've ever had a need to use this one. lol
