I believe that is an original Ek commando knife, forget the model #, I think the floating one is different and had a cork handle. This is ugly, but I sure would relish (and ketchup, chili and mustard) that one in my collection.

Yes, I believe its an EK.

I have several EK knives. Some bowies and a vintage well worn dagger.

EK knives may look ungainly but they work.

The owner of the knife company just wanted his knives in the hands of GIs and made them available for them.

That's because the handle is a wooden boat ! But I actually kinda like the blade shape .

How about some all time classic designs from SoG. It was an interesting time in SoG's career. With the formation of SoG Fusion as a budget line how was SoG going to sell cheaply made knives of questionable steel? Obviously experienced knife collectors would smell the BS so they have to catch the uninitiated's eyes, this means competing with TacForce.

So what is the plan? Stick as many useless and gaudy, uncomfortable decorations on the knives as possible.

Please note the little fishing reel on the fishing themed knife which actually rotates the mini handle as the pivot is turned. Notice the o-ring like rubber band on the other side of the muscle car knife.

I think the pocket clip is kind of sick though honestly. I'm sure that lanyard hole won't be a hot spot at all. *trollseyes*

In regards to design, SOG could have gone in different directions.

This knife would pair well with a nice sugar free Monster, while sporting a flat billed cap, wearing some white-framed Oakleys and a beard dyed overly black with some Only for Men, all while blasting Kid Rock in your lifted GMC Sierra half ton with some models you rented for the night hanging off your sleeveless camo t shirt to make your Instagram look lit af because in reality you were kicked out of the Navy for substance abuse which stemmed from your alcoholic father never giving you a proper atta'boy which resulted in a healthy trust fund but a severely deflated sense of pride. Come on you have to admire how it says Cobra AND Rhino on it. Two animals that have nothing to do with each other, that is other than their names sound vaugely military. Like something you would name a military vehicle.

Here are some related looking knives, Airkat knives. I don't know which is busier, the knife or the sheath.
