Maybe just as much cussing, depending on the occasion of the throwing. Formal tournament?? Probably very little. In the back yard or on a camping trip with ETOH involved? Probably a lot. :D Especially 2 or 3 six-packs in.

too much food. too much drink. tattoos were had by many.
San Diego is ok, I guess.

Kuub = rabbit stick practice without as much cussing?
S#!+ Talking is mandatory... house rules

Yes, all of this!

In a certain crowd we even allow cheating lol
Talk trash and try to cheat as much as possible...keeps every one paying attention and allows for much trash talk. Lots of fun!
Sounds weird but we're very close friends and it's understood so it doesn't get personal and we all just laugh our asses off.

A nice day fishing today. Only caught 7 keepers but it was quiet and beautiful on the water.

Seen several gators, they wouldn't pose for a picture up close, they are camera shy, so this is the best i could get.

After a LOOOOOT of time mental optimizing, I finally decided that having a revolver and carbine in matching calibers was actually a disadvantage to ME.

Consider the following:

1) I handload
2) I like subsonic lead or subsonic 180gr XTP loads in my .357
3) I would want Lil' Gun-powered 158gr super loads in my carbine
4) I have one set of .357 dies
5) Different impact velocities demand different bullets, different loads require different powders (little efficiency gained)
6) either constantly reset the .357 dies or buy two sets, which would then be a risk for confusion and ka-boom
7) main desire for .357 lever is to make it perform like a .30-30 w/ more rounds
8) I'd never want to mix/match those two rounds, and doing so would mess up sight calibration

Conclusion: want .30-30 performance? buy one, buy a set of .30-30 dies, bullets, and powders. No risk of ammo confusion.
So my ideal pairing is a .357 blackhawk with heavy subsonics and a .30-30 with 150gr Sierra softpoints.

1) i don't handload yet...
2) while i have 357/38, 44mag/45special, and 460/.454/.45colt i only have .44mag in rifles (semi, bolt, and lever)... i only shoot box loads.
3) i don't mind shooting the heavy stuff in .44 for pistol or rifle. ideally, i'll get a bigger .44magnum pistol than i have.
they all shoot crazy good for target practice. obviously, you want the most thump you can have in a rifle. 300, or 340 for .44?
4) i have none of that, though i'm collecting handloaders :D
5) depends on target vs hunting? ball vs not?
6) or ... just better bookkeeping? :D what do people who only say, shoot pistol but make up dozens of loads do?
7) respectable :D i want all the boom i can get, so i'd adopt a given caliber.
8) righto...

i just like the idea of pistol and carbine compatible. i'd assume i shoot the same ammo. i'd even rely on less power on pistol, assuming barrel length on rifle would average up. or not worry about it, and just learn to shoot hard stuff? dunno. it's all a hobby for me.

perhaps it's more romantic. the cowboy on the lonely range. a pocket of ammo. two guns. same loads.

gotta say though, that a .460 with higher power stuff will wake that shit up. shooting a whole box is manly stuff.

Only 7? Shoot, that's a good day.

Any day fishing is a good day!!

6 hours fishing to catch 7 keepers is OK, but I got use to catching 15+ in only a couple hours every time i went during April and May when bream were bedding and now its slowing down quite a bit taking more "fishing" to catch them.... but i agree that any day you catch enough for a meal is a good day!!

I need to get out and do some fishing. I used to go all the time, and hardly ever do anymore.

I think that's the primary appeal, which simply didn't translate to practicality. and believe you me, I looooove my .357 Blackhawk in custom leather. That's a pistol that's all about the look, feel, and pleasure of operating the mechanics. Shoots well too with the right loads. My goal has always been to get good enough with it to reliably hit a deer's vitals at 50yd despite no interest in *actual* handgun hunting. Just about there too, but haven't practiced recently.

I've been wanting a ruger Blackhawk in .30 carbine to pair with my M1

It supposed to be stupid loud.

And from what I understand, the performance of .30 carbine from the shorter barrel of the Blackhawk and other handguns sucks. I kinda want a Six Seven .327 revolver and for someone to make a lever action for the .327 Federal. Or maybe Ruger would chamber it in their 77 rifle.

Now yer talkin' my language!

Right when they introduced the .327 I was saying this. Especially when they chambered it in the Blackhawk and GP100. Is anyone surprised that those weren't popular?

it's a connoisseur's caliber, like the .41.
The .327 isn't great for hunting, and isn't great for self-defense given the alternatives, so I think it goes unappreciated. Is it a lovely balance? Hells yeah!

How about an M1 carbine in .327...

I'll be happy with an M1 carbine that runs reliably.

esoteric boutique rounds :D

There's way too many decimals being tossed around in here, can't be healthy.
