Um, Snark?

Great advice so far guys! Baiting bear is legal in our state. You cannot bait any other game animal.

We plan on using our bows....

Jeremy

Be up a tree WITH a gun. Bears can and will climb trees after folks, but they are slow at it. Well, slower than they can run. You cannot out run a bear unless you are running with someone slower than you. :D

Like the old joke, "Why'd you stop and tie your shoes? You can't outrun the bear." "I don't have to outrun the bear. I only have to outrun you."

Well I've been keeping busy with life and other fun things. Went to my first concert, yeah very first, of what 34 years of being around. Had some fun with things that go boom in the woods last weekend. I've also been keeping busy making knives. Nothing really finished yet, still wanting time grind out a few more before I send them out for ht.

Psy, get better bro!

What fits, what hits?

Tire "A" fits wheel "B", and is meant for vehicle "C". Ordered 4 tires "A", checked fit of wheel "B" on said vehicle "C"; no bueno.
It seems the big hole in the middle, herewith known as the "centerbore", is a crucial measurement.:grumpy:
Scrap plans for wheel "B", and adjust budget to account for (as yet to be found) wheel "D" in time for vacation "X". :miserable:

You need a bigger hammer.

Life has been hectic and no way to catch up on the snark. Hope everyone is well!

Demolition (floor removal) finally started. New floor (tile) is supposed to go in next week.

I have wanted one of these for a while now. Please let us know what you think!

Agreed! Full report please!

I got it in and the thing feels great in hand. Really good ergonomics with my not so big hands. Warrior sized hands may have an issue though. Came packaged great with a couple extra items i didnt expect, a little ammo pouch and a patch.

Putting it together is a little stiff, the parts are made to fit tightly and its recommended to use a silicon based lube, i didnt have any so i didnt use any, and taking the heads off without it require more than a little effort. Once together there is no doubt the head will come off and there is no play in the handle and head.

I started off with the slingshot head, and quickly realized i needed more practice. Its been quite a while since i shot a slingshot, but i was enjoying it and no effort was required to draw the band back and fire. After 15-20 shots i was hitting my cans here and there from 20 feet or so. Not every time... But hey i know i need more practice...

Then i tried the slingbow head to shoot a few arrows. Granted im not great with a bow and apparently not so great with a slingshot anymore, i was still very excited to put the slingbow head on.

When i ordered i asked to substitute the normal bands for the heaviest bands they have, as i need as much power as i can get to penetrate gar's armor. And honestly i was a bit worried i wouldnt get as much power from a slingshot as a recurve bow. Their customer service, Nathan, is awesome and was glad to make the switch. Well i definitely got some heavy duty powerful bands LOL. Feels very similar to the draw of a 50lb recurve or longbow. And my worry is put to ease after the first shot!! Despite completely missing the bag.

I was shooting from around 50 feet away. Using the old shed as a backstop. Not worried about hitting it with arrows, the people who built it never finished it and the walls are falling apart anyways.

This happened a few times.

After maybe 7 or 8 shots... just barely hitting the bag a couple and hitting the shed or the ground the rest of the time, i got this...

Feeling a little confident i went for the next shot.....

DAMN!! The bands pulled right off. Nothing broke, the bands came out of their knot when i started to draw.

I called up Nathan and he was awesome, sending me a free replacement set out today and sent me videos on how to fix what i have and make more bands too.

SO for now im going to go back to slingshot mode and get in some more practice while i wait on the replacement slingbow bands. Despite the bands failing on me i really enjoy this setup and think it will be an awesome gadget that i will get lots of use and fun from! Very happy with the purchase.

Just roll some pickup bedliner on the subfloor. You'll never have to redo it.

I'll take it under advisement...not sure my wife would buy it though.

The tile on top is what we are planning for the whole house. Talked to a plumber because we want to get a fiberglass shower torn out and replaced with either tile or cultured marble. He (not having seen the floor tile) suggested on the phone that a lot of people use the same tile on the walls for a shower as they do the floor. I told him it was a "wood look" and he laughed and said it could look like an outhouse! That might work, especially if we had a shower door made with a crescent moon on it....

I like the wood grain tile.

I'm tearing up carpet upstairs this evening since we have new carpet coming on Monday. We'll be doing the wood grain porcelain tile downstairs instead if carpet, laminate, linoleum and parquet wood.

Sounds great! We're hoping the wood grain tile is easier to maintain and holds up better (3 dogs) than the engineered hardwood.

Same here. We just have the one for now, but we can already see how hard we've been on the parquet wood floor.... That and we're replacing the carpet upstairs due to an unfortunate chewing incident.

It looks like you're ahead of us. I look forward to seeing shots of your floor once you have the tile down.
