Aesthetically unappealing, in particular the blade shape, jimping, extra holes, and "tiger" striping. Especially the blade shape.
I'd like to test the elongated opening hole though, just to compare to other makers' hole designs.
If those handles are soft rubberized material, seems like they would grip well. But why only on one side?

United Cutlery makes crappy knives. At least the ones i have owned were. No thanks, will stick to other knife companies.

I have to agree- this one is right up there with Mantis!! That grip- the blade shape....

looks like someone had 8 good ideas then suffered from an aneurism which scrambled them all into one weird abortion

Not bad - looks sturdy, and not a bad price.

I think it has a look of a tanto with fairy-boots the way the tanto sweeps up at the end, but that is just an observation; it might make the tanto handier to use for all I know.

That appeals to me about as much as his custom work. I'll pass, although I would be interested to hear about it's fit and finish. Or if the 440C is actually heat treated. :suspicion:

Anyone else have experience with these new United knives?

After a page and a half of responses, it appears that no, nobody here has any experience with these new United knives. Nor anything actually constructive to say.

The blade shape reminds me of a profile shot of a pissed off Woody Woodpecker. :D I actually kinda like it, though (in the PE version). I look forward to reading your impressions once it arrives.

My comment was very constructive. The moral was "don't design knives after a brain aneurism"

Look at the Spyderco Zulu or Dodo. What did people say when they came out?

If it said zombie apocalypse or M48 I wouldn't have touched it.

I like the blade shape on this one far more than the Zulu. I find the Dodo rather homely, but in a cool sort of way, just like this one. I just watched a vid of this knife, and it looks bigger than the specs lead me to believe. It's quickly growing on me. I really hope it turns out to be of decent quality.

I know xiuxiu1313 aka carter on youtube has these, and reviewed them alongside his custom mikkel willumsen alamo folder, and he said they were decent. the front shape is G10, the lockup is fairly solid, albiet with a very thin relief cutout. The 440c from what I hear performs decently, and they're reasonably smooth for the price.

I'm afraid Willumsen's designs just don't do anything for me, I find them outlandish and unattractive. And I definately don't care for UC so I think I'll pass.
