Recommendation? Unnaturally crazy 'dagger' "Want!"

A knife does not need to have a sharp cutting edge to render some one useless. It does not need to cost $100
I can tell you from experience the Smith&Wesson HRT dagger that cost $20 will kill some one and fast with only one puncture. When you stab your puncturing. One puncture greater than an inch in depth will send most people into shock making the uncombative. ....

.....If you stab some one with a dagger make sure you turn it 90 degress before you remove it to open the wound channel, thus making the person die sooner. you can practice this with a cardboard box MUSCLE MEMORY!!! for those high stress situations when training response takes over

To the OP get both if you can!

Good lord. I guess it comes with the territory...

Btw, since this is about an "unnatural crazy dagger want" I thought I'd post my collection.

How do you like that Gerber Mark I Legend J?

As an FYI, there's no selling/offering to sell without a gold membership.

Sorry. I edited my post to avoid a violation. How do I like it? I bought 3 and I had a pattern welded steel version made(in the bottom left). Made by @hellize, btw. It is my favorite dagger.

What's the 2nd one over from the left and the 3rd one over from the right?

2nd one over from the right is a PUMA SGB Black 8" Boot Knife. The blade is made & heat treated in Germany and assembled in China. The 3rd one over from the right is a JOKER CF00 made in Albacete, Spain. I read in a Spanish knife forum that it is the official knife of a Spanish cavalry(tankers) unit. Both are 440A SS.

Whats the deal with that Pugio? Genuine article?

It is not really historically accurate if that is what you're asking. I saw a unique pugio that I fell in love with I wanted a replica for myself. I made a schematic and sent it to a blacksmith in Missouri. That is what he produced. Not what I was expecting. But, oh well. The real pugios had a couple of organic slabs sandwished between the tang and another iron scale.

Congrats.

EKs rock!

Looks real to me but Im no expert.

I believe, Ive posted my even more beat up EK dagger in this thread.

OK here's what I just pulled out of the eBay this morning:

now someone tell me it's a worthless Chinese replica......:(
;) LOL ! Not unless those clever Chinese are now antiquing their clones . Great find .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks guys, I've never even handled a John Ek before...but they do come highly recommended....(see above :) )

Ive seen one on Instagram from an Australian maker with a ring one the end. I want it pretty bad but its $250. They look fantastic though and I'm generally not a dagger lover.

don't you know the correct answer is always smatchet - even for a dagger ; )

luckily cold steel has us covered with this 7" beauty

I think my favorite dagger-style knife is the spyderco euroedge. extrema ratio also makes great dagger knives but they are very expensive and not worth the price.

Cool old thread......
I always wanted an Boker Applegate dagger but kinda felt they were over priced....and that was when they were cheap.

I never held or saw one up close, but I know what feels good in the hand, and I came up with my own version. It's just drawn out on the steel, I need some time for Fun! Damn that blade was Pricey.... Ugh!

I'm still not sure if I'm doing a spear point, but I can play with that as I go along.

I hope one of these can satisfy the part of me that refuses to grow up.....haha

You're right about the Bokers being overpriced. However, I had a bit of cash fall into my lap and a moment of weakness last week. My LGS has had an Applegate 5.5 under the glass for the better part of 3 years. Still too much for 440c, but way under what they go for these days.

It's pretty much, IMHO, the perfect version of the knife. The full tang still remains lively if a bit handle heavy. It sweeps, splashes, and of course pierces as you would expect. The sheath is absolute irritating garbage, but I made a quick and dirty "front pocket* sheath like Fairbairn demonstrated in on of the reels where it can be drawn quickly and unexpected.
