Also, the reason that Dan has not posted that the knife was received is because he doesn't know that it has been. He is on vacation and the person in the US has not been able to contact him and let him know that the knife was received on the 29th of December.

I would like to apologise for stating earlier that the fact that the package had not been signed for was not posted by Kyle. It was and I missed it.
 
This Trial By Internet has gotten way out of hand.

When this first started I posted my comments in the first thread and I stand by them. I know Kyle. Lots of people here on this forum know Kyle. Kyle has done work for many people and this is the only complaint I've heard. Who here knows or has met Dan? On what basis are you taking Dan's word over Kyle's? Is it because you have been banned from the other site?

A chronology of events might help people understand what happened:
1) Dan asks Kyle to do some work for him.
2) Kyle does not want to do the work.
3) Dan keeps e-mailing Kyle asking him to do the work.
4) Kyle give in and agrees to do the work.
5) Kyle buys supplies and tolls to do the job.
6) Kyle is injured and has surgery confining him to bed for over two months.
7) Dan e-mails and asks the status of the work.
8) Kyle is bedridden and cannot reply.
9) Dan posts threads in forums asking if anyone had heard from Kyle.
10) Multiple people respond and say Kyle is injured and cannot respond.
11) Some people volunteer to try to get in touch with Kyle.
12) Dan keeps posting on the threads asking where Kyle is.
13) Dan e-mails the volunteers multiple times asking where Kyle is.
14) Kyle responds while injured with a short note saying he is tired of being pestered by Dan. He said the knife will be returned to Italy and he would not lie about the contents of the package.
15) Two months later Dan posts in GBU saying CAVEAT EMPTOR Kyle.
16) Kyle responds and asks why Dan has not paid.
17) Four days later Dan pays Kyle and starts this thread rather than continuing the other. The other thread was not going the same direction this thread went.
18) This thread continues for three months.
19) Kyle posts to this thread and says the knife was seized and returned. He then forwarded the knife to another knifemaker.

The events condense to:
Kyle didn't want to do the work but was pestered into it, an injury caused the customer to be dissatisfied with the time frame, Kyle shipped the knife back to Italy and then to a knifemaker.

Dan would not take no for an answer, when Kyle was injured he would not accept that Kyle could not respond or work on his knife, Dan e-mails Kyle and other people again and again asking the same question, Dan paid his bill two months late.

In my opinion, Dan sounds very impatient and is the "Customer From HELL". I will never do business with him.

These comments are for a few people:
I've noticed the same people are continually posting comments about Kyle's character. Several of these people are banned from the other site. If you are banned from the other site, and this thread is one way you can show your anger, get over it. Life is too short to go around picking on people because you are not part of the club they are members of.

If you find out you were wrong, are you going to publicly apologize to Kyle the same way you publicly bashed him? If yes, you have great character.

Keith, you have nothing to apologize for. It's pretty obvious by the length of time this has taken, the very recent action taken -- finally! -- and the vulgarity of Mr. Eichenseer's comments to you, where the fault lies.

I tryed to access BF 3 or 4 times to respond to this thread and got the you do not have permission to post error. So at some point I had my access removed.

Ive also contacted dan to inform him the status of his knife without a responce. So when he sends me an e-mail Ill beable to finish the deal.

I think at this time, there is enough stuff on the table for those that want to deal/or not deal with Kyle is apparent.

The same could be said for Dr. Dan.

As CODE3 stated earlier, we'll close the thread when the transaction is completed. This morning I was informed the knife arrived but there was nothing else in the package. He's still missing $200 worth of supplies.

I notice a number of people have expressed opinions about what Dan is like to deal with who don't seem to have done any deals with him. Knifemakers (other than Eichenseer) who have dealt with him are expressing different opinions to me....

Well, it does show how mature one of the parties is, at the very least. They'd rather go to any length spitting out insults instead of posting simple piece of "evidence" that would dispel any doubt :rolleyes:
 
First off, I would like to say that I should not have replied to Kyle in the manner that I did. It was not right to suggest where he could put his comments. Statements like the one I made do nothing to promote a constructive debate and only fuel anger and animosity.

Kyle and his supporters obviously feel that he did the right thing and it is obvious that I don't agree. I never will, but as far as I am concerned it is time to see how this all works out in the end. If Dan gets what he has paid for then that is all that can be asked of Kyle at this time. What has been done, has been done and it can't be changed. The way this deal is finalized is what is important now.

Don't you and Kyle have bad blood between you far before this post came up? Nice to provoke someone and then step back raise your hands and say, "Who me?"

Seems to me you have a personal grudge against Kyle. How about taking it someplace else. And since you have made your position crystal clear how about quit stirring the pot. Kyle already said he took responsibility for the deal gone bad. What more do you want?

How would you feel if someone sent you illegal stuff and put the info on the package? I thought it was common courtesy not do declare "knives" in packages. He shipped the package making sure it gets seized.....
