UPDATED: BladeForums Special Edition Skyline interest thread

I'm 100% good with this iteration - a nice deep carry clip set up from the factory for tip up would make it relatively perfect - Of course I'm down for at least 1 of whatever comes to fruition anyway though! Please make it REAL stonewash and not beadblast that some retailers call stonewashed :)

Here's a quick rough chop of bladeforums blue...or at least close to it. I like this a lot with the stonewashed blade.

I'll chime in again, blade steel is the most important part for me. I'd prefer M390, Elmax, or ZDP-189 as the steel, would be okay with the composite as well. I use my knives (except my Ti Tyrade lol) and this would be no exception. BF blue G10 would be okay, if available, if not I'd love to see some carbon fiber, or natural or jade G10.

What's the good news Spark?

Ya is there an update on prices for other steel options, or are we pretty much going with S30V? Which is an acceptable upgrade.

I thought we were going to vote on the top best few configurations:
1. bladeforums.com blue with stonewashed S30V, full flat grind, (low rider clip) [thumb jimping?]
2. carbon fiber with (stainless) damascus, (low rider clip) [thumb jimping?]
3. jade green/digicamo/translucent with S110V, M390, ZDP-189, Elmax or composite (low rider clip) [thumb jimping?]
4. . . .
5. .

I like the blue G-10 but I'd like to know what Carbon Fiber might cost.
I still think carbon fiber and damascus would be nice, or stainless damascus and blue G-10.

ya I know that, but would the same old damascus or extra leftover stainless damascus (cutting edge or spine/composite) be less than S30V? And would that minus the extra cost of carbon fiber still be cheaper than what the blue one will cost?? Thats my real question?

We want the bling (oh I mean hard use steel) and the most inexpensively possible, right?

Come on Spark, this thread is losing steam without some updates.

I'm not sure what you want me to tell you. I'm waiting to hear back from Thomas for costs. We're only one of many irons in the fire at Kershaw.

I'll support the project Spark.....but at the same time, I do hope it comes in at a reasonable cost.

I'm not concerned about anything "losing steam," and am looking forward to whatever the final details might be. Thanks for your efforts!

However, I admit to remaining intrigued by this:
Also, I'm not going into details but I got a surprise message this morning. Interesting developments afoot.

A teaser, for sure.

Just dreaming but ikbs at extra cost would be just amazing on a skyline.

I vote for Blue G10 with vg10 or s30v steel with full flat grind and thumb jimping. This should be possible for < $100.00

Why would you put KVT on the Skyline?

Even with a pretty tight pivot screw, I can still open my skyline with zero wrist action needed.
