I will admit, however, that a number of "knives" shown in this enjoyable thread are really "useless".![]()
That’s just idiotic. How did we get all bogged down in a useless discussion of the meaning of the word useless?
I mean, yeah, this two pound folding "knife" does have an edge and could cut something (or operate solidly as a paperweight, doorstop, etc.) but let's not let something as silly as that stop us from ridiculing it:

I own a Medford Praetorian.
Nah that's not a Heeter evil, It looks way too functional and that knife would fit in your pocket. Heeters look like they are made from stone and discarded bits of cast iron. Yap yap yap, or yaba daba doo < Fred Flintstone reference, for the younger crowd but I digress. I actually am developing some fond feelings for the MOW. I think i'm in need of intervention or have a repressed desire to chop wood with a Err umm Pocket knife. Some of these threads remind me that unlike most things in life, we're never going to run out of stupidity.
Heeter, RMK, whoever made this moronic thing you posted, and moreover the simpletons who are buying them, are all examples of the limitless resource that is stupidity. If only there was a way to extract electricity from it or something, the world would be set forever.
The average member of say, Heeter nation, could probably power a small country if we could just convert stupidity to electricity.
Hell, my forum posts alone would probably power a household.![]()

Nice wordsmithing katanasI will admit, however, that a number of "knives" shown in this enjoyable thread are really "useless".That is even allowing for "de gustibus" (see what I mean about intellect?).

At first I thought that opinels were useless and a bit of a joke but after reading so many positive reviews here on the BF I'll have to pick one up and give it a go. Such a large group of faithful followers can't be denied and I plan on doing some whittling on my next camping/fishing trip so which size or model would be best suited for that?Love all mine. Best cutters I have. Whittling, carving, etc
Here is one with a free hanging hair whittled. Easy to keep sharp. The lock is meant to keep it from closing on my fingers, which it does...it is not a fighting knife. Or a tactical knife....

Probably the most useful knives for actually cutting things I've ever owned.......and I've owned a lot...

I like Opinels as much as the next guy but I'm not sure I'd take one fishing. Those handles are porous and untreated. :/At first I thought that opinels were useless and a bit of a joke but after reading so many positive reviews here on the BF I'll have to pick one up and give it a go.
