Vampire Gerbil Donation information

Just got off the phone with VG. He hopes to have the newly donated PC up & running soon. His left hand is real weak & will have a hard time typing. SO we may not see the long manifestos & rants we all long to read. Bottom line is it'll be good for him to get him back here. It'll be good to at least exersize his mind with the PC. He's in the house most of the day.

I cannot express how privileged I am to amongst some of the most caring people I have not met. I would like to personally thank all of those who chipped in to get Dave back up and running and who continue to help him out. I for one will be very happy to see him back online. To me that will be a weight of worry off my shoulders. By seeing him post it will let me know he is alive and well. He is definitley a unique person and the world is a better place with him in it. :D

Spoke to Dave today. He IS online somewhat. New Email Vampyrgerbil@aol.com

He is still one handed & hates to type as the good hand will still hurt some. SO he's easing back into it. He sounded 100% VG back to ...er ah normal :) Kidding Dave..

BARE with him. He will be back, just not so often.
 
I don'y know if I'd like to BARE anything with Vampire Gerbil :eek: ...but I will be patient. :D

I strongly approve of this thread Frank. Very touching. Just sorry I didn't really pay any attention to it until this evening. Anway, I send him some $ via paypal. Thanks for bringing it to my attention even if I have been asleep at the wheel for a while at least I finally woke up and saw this thread. What is that old saying? If it had been a snake it would have bit me.

I just got an email from our favorite Undead Rodent! VG is still kicking, although is very frustrated by only being able to type one handed. When he had use of both hands, he could only use one finger on each, so losing the use of one is frustrating for him. Anyone know of voice recognition software for the Mac?

He still seems to have some of his sense of humor left and did mention that he has a terrible craving for Cherry Pop Tarts.

It was a short email, but it made my weekend! I also have his new address if anyone needs it.

Thank you Steve, :cool: Its nice to see the thread is still helping Dave out. He is real appreciative of all the help. He does thank each & everyone. He just can't do it in person here. As jmxcpter explained, he really has a hard time typing now.

I do gotta give him a call to check in myself. I'll let him know to check his paypal.
 
Talked to him yesterday and he is doing OK. Eating a better diet and seems to be getting his sense of humor back.
 
Just talked to him yeaterday and is is doing better. He said that he would try to log on and see what has been going on but I think that the pride that he takes in his posts will prevent him from posting. He sounds good but his arm and back still bother him.
 
What Mac and OS is he running? I may be able to get a Voice Recognition capability for him.
 
I moved & tried to call him a few times. Left a few messages but no luck. I doubt he has my new info. I really need for him to listen to the messages if you talk to him.

Thanks Frank for posting this thread, long time no see, miss you from the good old days on Microholics, Paypal is on it's way buddy, haven't been here in awhile, but i sure remember Dave, great guy, glad the KFC was down or i wouldn't have seen this thread, thank the gods, god speed!

Dave's a stand out kind of guy, liked him right away, honest with himself and it shows, we love you buddy!

i see a lot of old faces here, i'm Hermes on the other forums, you guys are the greatest, glad to to come aboard on this worthy cause.

Thanks for the donation. Dave will eventually get it & get to thank everyone. I still have yet to talk to him. I hope he is doing OK.

Good to see you popped in. I did try a similar thread on another forum, but it was blocked. Although 99% of the members knew him, he was not a member so it wasn't allowed. :( :confused: VG Told me he was approached by famous knife makers at Blade. Like he was a star! He couldn't believe Rob Siminoch saw him through a crowd & came up to him. He is worthy of a thread.

Dave is super personality & would do anything for a friend. He sums up what a knife guy is no matter what forum he graced with his intelect and great humor. I can't wait to laugh on line again.
