Dave was moved to a rehab faucility. I'm not sure of it's name or location at the moment. I'll post news as I get it.
 
Has anyone started a fund yet for Dave? I would love to help if I can.............
 
I tired to get something started for Dave shortly after his wife passed but he declined the offer. I'm not sure how he will respond at this time.

Dave I'll give you the best rehab advice I know, have long term goals with short term accomplishments.

Every hurdle is an accomplishment no matter how small, it's a step in a positive direction, your a tenacious dude and in the words of Tim Allen in some movie with aliens "Never give up never surrender."

Keep the faith dude. :D
 
Thanks for the update, Alisha. Glad to hear your dad is slowly but surely recovering.
Tell him Golok sends positive thoughts and prayers from half-way across the world.
We are all there for him. I am just one of the many who sends best wishes and warmest regards. :)
 
:( Been off the forums for a while. Just saw the thread about Stacie, and now this too? I've got almost more problems than I can handle, and they pale in comparison...Just goes to show who's the stonger. Hang in there VG, we need you. Without the Uber-rodent, life is just a rat race...

Haven't been around much lately at all, but had to check in to see if there were any updates on Dave(been weeks sine I'd been here to find anything), so I'm VERY glad to see this. We're still all rooting for you VG, and Allisha(which I'm sure I spelled wrong, my apologies), know that your dad is very proud of you. You're in our prayers too.

We really should do something financial for Dave. If I can help you get a fund going let me know.

His rehab will be smoother if his money worries are minimized. This I know.............
 
Just got off the phone with Alisha... our Beloved VG will be released to go home soon. He continues to improve, and is getting back to his old Rodent self!

I passed on the interest in send finincial assistance. It is appreciated, but for now... we'll see.

Let's keep the thoughts & prayers going out for the whole Gerbil clan. They have all been through a lot lately.

Funds have been offered and refused several times now. But I just got to thinking... (and that is dangerous for me, but.. ) ..

What about a Christmas fund for his kids?? VG likely does'nt want anything for himself but, maybe a house full of goodies under the tree for the kids, or add to an already existing college fund for the kids, or any number of other things the children may need or want this year. Nothing is going to take the pain away from the tragic loss and make them stop them thinking about they're woderful mother during the Christmas Season, but perhaps we can take the edge off just a tad.

Just think if every forumite gave between: $1. ~ $5. ~ to the sky is the limit. I bet we could make a real difference to those kids and it would take some pressure of VG as well... What do you all think??

We can send paypal to an account,marked V.G.fund and force V.G.

to accept(college fund,christmas fund?)

Another idea,we donate knives & auction them off,all proceeds to V.G.

I like SunnyD's idea, and I think that refusal shouldn't be an option for VG! ;) I'd be more than willing to pitch in as soon as the fund is set up, so we should decide how we're doing this. Paypal, have Spark collect the dough and send it, E-bay knife auctions etc? Let's get deciding!

EXACTLY RIGHT! It should be someone that knows him well and someone who we trust implicitally! That aint me, since I only know the VGerbal from the forum and have just laughed and lurked at all his great humor and perspective. It should be some fora` member more intimate with the situation, but a confidential type of person! I think we should do this by a rapid election... Any nominations guys & gals?? (BUT, PLEASE LETS DO IT QUICK) Maybe a moderator can move this to a secure site before it gets out to the general 'fora population'??!!?? :rolleyes: I mean should'nt it be somewhat of a surprise??
