I doubt anyone will have any issues for small things through CRK's warranty. Just keep in mind that if your lock bar moves too far inward and develops play, don't bother.

You might reconsider, given the positive experiences many people have had. It's also worth considering that forums like this tend to collect unrepresentatively large proportions of negative reports...people seldom come by to post that they had no trouble at all.
Sorry, not true. My '96 Regular went to, say, 105-107% with blade rock, and was fixed perfectly, rapidly, and for free.
All,
I took the opportunity to email an overview of this thread to Chris Reeve's office.
Perhaps he will have opportunity to chime in.
You guys are crazy, people always talk about how if it develops play he fixes the lock...
Just because you had an abused / purchased used knife doesn't mean everyone does.
Your starting to sound like Chris
Again your experience is different than ours. Doesnt make you wrong but we both have knives that were sent in for warranty that werent fixed. The odds are now 3 to 1 in our favor.
Believe me I wish I turned out like you with a good locking sebenza.
What odds are in whose favor?
Seriously, there are what...3-4 people that are doing the complaining? 2 of which purchased USED knives with no knowledge of their history.
You accepted the chance that there may have been something abusive in the knife's past. Why not just buy a new lockbar and be done with it?
if a knife isnt abused the the manufacture sure stand behind there product no questions ask ,period. expecially when you pay the amount you pay.
I have had no problems using other manufactures warranty.
The ball detent on my crkt ripple went bad and crkt no questions asked not only replaced the knife but they gave me a first production run as well.
Granted Im not asking for a free sebenza but I ask for them to fix the lock bar no matter it be the replacement of the lock bar side free of charge or fixing it another way.
This maybe coming way out of left field here. If you wave an Emerson knife it's like flicking from hell. But those knives have thin titanium liners and g10 handels. And waving the knife is encouraged. Why then would a knife with "far superior build quality" be afarid of a little bit of flicking? CRK uses pretty thick Ti slabs. I guess I don't really know is G10 stronger than Titanium? BTW im not promoting Emerson knives, Just trying to find an extreme example of flicking. I do not own a CRK and for $400 + I probably will never but any knife at that price point that does not provide a no questions asked warrenty. If such a thing even exists![]()
How exactly do you know that the knife wasnt abused?
How exactly do you know that the knife wasnt abused?
Your 100% correct, and this is a question ive been asking for a long time but can never get a straight up answer. I dont like emersons personally but you would think if there knives can wave without issue then a sebenza should withstand normal edc tasks using a finger flick and not have any issues what so ever.
