Vertical blade play on sebenza? - Update

and Mr. Reeve charges $350 for a knife that cost $80 to manufacture. your point?

You first.

You are the one publicly lambasting a company for something that should be between you and them. What do you expect us to do for you? Cheer you on in your gallant fight against evil knife companies?

Because Emerson charges $200 for a $40 knife, he can afford to fix a lot of lockup issues for free.

Not a fan, huh, for some reason that doesn't surprise me;).

Anyways, Chris is doing the same thing (with mark-up), that's how a business makes money, simple economics, difference is Ernest will take care of all your warranty issues with a smile on his face as he does it.

Isnt a public forum used to discuss these types of issues with a knife company and discuss ways for them to futher expand in the fields they are lacking in? This was not meant to publically slander crk, it was a thread to discuss warranty problems many shared.

LOL I work with machines that do similar functions with tolerances, (motherboard engineering, computer core designing)

Those are not 80 dollar knives; but nice try.

He seems to have a legitimate gripe, and after sending it in and the issue wasn't resolved, a good reason to voice his frustration (also with 2 unanswered emails since). Sounds like he's tried to make it between him and Chris without much luck. No ones asking you to cheer or not, but if you don't like it you can see your way out of the thread.

Doesn't matter, there's mark-up and potential warranty work is factored into the price. THAT'S the point.

wow, look through the post in the thread

There is nothing in any of your posts in this thread that would indicate that you have any idea what this knife went through before you got it.

So, how do you know that the knife wasn't abused before you bought it?

A few shared. A few. "Many" have had great experiences.

As could you, and as could wolf. It isnt your thread, or his.

They are making more than you think, but Money has nothing to do with it. If you have such high standards stand behind your product and have a no questions asked warranty. Thats what people are paying the brunt of the money for (the warranty and the tolerances). If a sebenza doesnt have that then its just like every other knife.

Well Ive sent 2 emails with no reply, and its been a few days now. Hopefully you can get some answers or maybe convince Mr. Reeve to chime in on this thread.

Why not just call them and talk to someone.

I've emailed them about two things, one email was answered that night. One was never answered, I called and had an answer in minutes. It is so much easier than exchanging email's, that process could last for weeks.

Unfortunately probably too late now if they are only working four days a week (I assume M-Th). Just call them on Monday first thing and get an answer.

Yes sir,

I planned to do that first thing monday. Ive already talk to them about this particular sebenza and they had me send it in. The issue was not fixed. Now Im trying to figure out other options.

Thanks

I don't understand why people are so quick to defend CRK. Lets forget all we know about knives and remember we are talking about a $400 or more pocket knife. Let that sink in for a minute. That is groceries for a month for some families. Or a car payment. When people are paying that much money, at a time when money is hard to come by. CRK should fix the knife. Don't try to argue this point cuz its true.

They do stand behind their product as long as there has been no abuse. Flipping is abuse according to CRK...when purchasing a used sebenza...buyer beware!

agreed, but when no flicking occurs and the warranty isnt honored we have threads like these start. I do understand what you are saying though and thanks for the input.

This entire thread confuses me. Why is it that some posters have never had a warranty issue while others have had enough problems that they can compare the warranty service of different manufacturers?
