Very cool stuff coming from Condor Tool!!!

Thanks so much Joe! It's great to see a company really listen to users and take a risk. I'm planning on picking up a few Condor pieces and I'll be adding a few more. These are the companies that we all need to support!

Thanks again...

I looked at their site and they have some really awesome machetes but I can't find anywhere to get one. Is there anyplace to buy them here in the US?

While short lived, we had a Sportsmans Warehouse here in MI. They carried the existing Condor machetes with the blue handles and SS blades. If you have one in the area, check there.

Just so everyone knows, the Golok will have a gradual taper from 1/4" to the tip... It won't be 1/4" all the way, and should be (crossing fingers) a psuedo flat grind before the start of the condor edge.

Best one you ever used eh Joe?
Well, I'll hold you to it:D

They seem like they will make a nice set of users, time will tell If plung in any money for one......wait their how cheap!?
Never mind, I'll have a few on the way:D

While Scandi grind knives are well liked by some, their biggest advantage comes from being easy to manufacture.

That depends rather much on who you ask. If you ask me, or indeed most of the people who make Scandi ground knives around these parts, they will answer that the biggest advantage of the Scandi grind is the superior woodworking performance and accuracy in cuts since there is no large secondary bevel to complicate things. I would rather do woodwork with a cheap Scandi than with an expensive flat grind, for example.

In any case, I'm interested in trying out their full tang Scandis. You don't often see such things around here, since Scandis are traditionally not full tang.

Best 18" I've ever used, modified or not! I don't know if I would put it up against a tomes, but i haven't used one of those yet.

PS: Anyone who owns one of the custom Tomes machetes, feel free to send it my way to borrow forever.

There are plans to add a lanyard hole to the golok providing it doesn't compromise the integrity of the handle. Personally I'd like it with a polymer handle, but that's just me. The scandi pieces are pleasingly hefty in-hand. Also they're trying to find someone who can do break-away kydex sheaths for them! There was an example by some Canadian sheath maker on the carbon El Salvador, but the cost of the sheath was greater than the machete so it's probably a long way off for now. Still exciting! :D

yep on the lanyard holes. As far as the polymer handle one.....there might be plans for that in the future, perhaps of a thinner stock. We'll see how these do. Their polymer is fantastic.

They do an exceptional job of making the polymer textured enough not to cause rubbing but not so textured that it causes chafing.

and it doesn't crack. I will be posting a video up later to illustrate it.

That is a buttload of cool. Sorry if someone posted and I missed it, but are the Golok and the knives going to be carbon or 420HC?

FINALLY!!! I refuse to buy a stainless machete, but I can get Condor stuff pretty easily in Germany. I'll get me a carbon steel machete and a bushcraft knife for sure when they hit the market!

Hey guys I am late to this show, where can I pick up a nessi or bushcraft? I've checked their site and vendors and had no luck.

THANKS!

You're not late to the show, you just didn't read the whole thread.
They aren't out yet. The knives shown are just protos.
